The less said about VV Brown the better...though La Roux seems to be doing well over there, Bulletproof was at #9 on US iTunes.

To me if you strip the X Factor, GA and the whole Ashley thing away from Cheryl, there really is nothing at all interesting about her, and thats how'd she be in America, they don't know and probably don't care about her marriage and X Factor promo etc.. I'm pretty sure FFTL would do badly if she released it there. Her best bet is to get with Will.i.am and market herself as his 'protege' over there, and then they would probably care as everything the BEP do seems to blow up....

^^ This.

Leona has an amazing voice, but they completely ruined the album's chances by choosing Happy as the lead single.

They haven't really had any major promo over there.. More just on the smaller shows so you can't really assume that they have flopped already.. A lot of people in the U.S are still unaware who they are..Maybe the song has flopped but they haven't so maybe you should rephrase the title

Every performance they have done in the US has been live so the miming does not seem to be an issue anymore

And it's obvious he'll showcase an X factor artist, but that artist is more likely to be Leona Lewis.”

Leona has already been 'showcased' on American Idol. If they showcase anyone it will be an unknown act from UK x-factor.

No doubt she'll be performing though.

I like JLS but they should have worked on more songs in the UK before trying out in the USA! I hope they don't make fools of themselves

Hi Im new on here. All this talk about JLS.Pixie lott And Cherle Cole breaking America, does anyone realise Will Young is appearing on the final of American Idol on Tuesday, and is releasing a digital album over there.I think Popstars try to crack America far too soon before they have established themselves over here first. Will has been perfecting his craft for 8 years now and now thinks it is the right time to go further afield.I think he deserves success out there and I wish him all the luck in the world because he is brilliant live with an amazing voice.

Cheryl does need some more advanced vocal lessons, she needs to make sure she's ready if she does want to 'crack the US', she has tough competition. Pixie is a much better singer and in my opinion much prettier (I know looks aren't everything) yet she doesn't seem to have the support that Cheryl does in terms of helping her crack America.”

I was unaware that Cheryl was even known in America? A lot of Americans will say they like Cheryl to the British media because they are told that Cheryl is super-popular over here. At very most, she'd be known as the girl who judges X Factor at the moment.

And this isnt a knock at Cheryl.

Isn't it more a case of Will Youngs song was chosen by Simon to be the exit song on Idol this year rather than him "choosing" to head to the states after establishing himself here? After all he was on American Idol season 1 promoting himself wasn't he? Singing with Kelly Clarkson.

Seems more like attempt 1 flopped and the fact he has a great song to fit the "goodbye" song at the end of Idol has given him another chance, so in reality is just like all those who rush over there once they win a talent show.

Not really, he had nothing to promote at the time .Simon Fuller asked him to go and guest on the show as the very first winner of the idol format, but it was Will's choice not to promote in the US over the years until now.

I want to meet your friends.

I also noticed there seems to be a lot less of those type of stories. I guess all the time JLS are shifting loads in the UK the tabloids are not going to want to be seen as bashing them. All the time things are good they will want to keep them (and their fans) onside.

You're exactly right. Cheryl Cole is not known at all in America. I can't believe the poster you quote in your message believes that she is.

Absolutely. I'm sure the U.S. would have already churned out another boyband by now, if they felt they needed one.

For the record, Taio Cruz reached #1 with Break Your Heart not so long ago.

I guess the U.S. music buyers either like the music or they don't.

I wouldn't wish Cheryl Cole on America. They don't deserve that.

Back on topic.....Interesting isn't it. I think at some point publicists and management for big stars must have started making demands on they type of stories the tabloid press could publish, or else they restrict access. It's been going on in Hollywood for years with the American tabloid press, but the British tabloid press always seemed a bit less keen to do those sort of trade-offs.

I was worried about JLS doing better than Alexandra but I don't have 2 worry so much.

JLS, need waaaaaaaaay more better material and they can make it. They should make Oritse sing more (He has the best voice) except that Aston and Marvin are more handsome, so they use them.

I personally think some of Blue's material are waaaaaaaay better than theirs.

The thing that Alexandra will have over JLS is she's a MUCH better performer and singer so she would win the LIVE performance aspect which is her main strength and how the audiences view an artist for the first time.

JLS, should have better material, let Oritse sing more and practise more on their performing skills, then they'll be fine
