Help - I've mucked up my TV! Need help from someone with a Sony 16:9 TV!

Well after seeing how to access the engineering menu on my Sony I thought I'd be clever and sort out the geometry on it, which was a bit dodgy in the corners. I took the precaution of noting down the original values and fiddled about. After a few days I decided tonight to put it back to the way it was so tapped the original values back in, not realising the calues are aspect ratio mode dependant - so my 14:9 mode is now a second 'Wide' mode!

If anyone has a Sony widescreen (mine's is a 28", but I'd imagine the settings would be the same regardless of model please do the following:
Put your TV to 14:9 mode
Press Standby, info, 5, volume up, TV (the Teletext off button on mine), menu, right arrow and post the values along the right column here and I will forever be in your debt! And to get out of the engineering menu just switch your TV off and on again.

Thanks a lot (and I know I'm an idiot )

The settings are probably not the same on different models... on the same model they can vary from set to set (I used to service Sony TV's and we noted the values but often found each TV needed a further 'tweak' to get each individual TV set up correctly.

What model have you got? ( I have the KV28FX20 and I think I have noted the values for it.

Oh and have you looked at THIS site?

Looks like I've messed up big time then . I'm not certain on the model number, I'll chaech round the back of the telly tommorow, but I know it's the predecesor to the KV28LS36

Well I can certainly list my settings which might get yours to a setting that is better than it is now, but I can't guarantee that it won't make it worse!

I think there's a global reset option thta resets EVERYTHING back to default setting BUT that means everything is set halfway rather than setup correctly. So I'd avoid doing this as every setting (many) get reset.

Have you asked over at The AV Forums?

It's be great if you could post them. I don't use the 14:9 option too often so I'll put up with them being a bit off. If yours are completely out I'll either head into Currys or post in the forum you mentioned.

Again Cheers
