Good to see Neil Sedaka get recognition, he's often over looked as a song writer. Tim why he's never been honoured before goodness knows why he's written some wonderful lyrics over the years, same goes with Paul Weller.

She won two.

That's beyond satire, surpassed only by Henry Kissinger winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

I'll give up on music when Kate Nash wins one.

Actually she won three!

I like Lily but no way is she an amazing song writer. Its strange that now she's 'retired' all of a sudden she wins every award going.

The third was a joint one. The DS headline is "Lily Allen wins 2 Ivor Novellos".

I'm with DS on this one.

Well the Guardian headline is: "Lily Allen scoops three Ivor Novello awards for songwriting" so I guess either is good

Plus its only a joint one because Greg Kurstin co-wrote the album with her.

Whatever you might think of Lily's personality and behaviour, I think her music is great fun and the awards are well-earned.

Don't think that much of those awards if Lily Allen won Best song musically and lyrically.

I'll split it with ya, 2.5.

Remember Johnny Rotten's "I Hate Pink Floyd" t-shirt.

Well......

The sublime Johnny Marr, along with Tim Rice, Trevor Horn and Paul Weller - and the ridiculous Lily Allen in the same awards - just doesn't make sense.

FFS Lily Allen!!!

Like the 60s never happened.

Celebrity culture gone completely tom tom loco.

I've no ****ing idea who Ivor Novello is, but if he's not dead and turning repeatedly in his grave, it's like north gone south and leaving a very bad taste in my....

Lily Allen is a great songwriter, you may not like her singing style or her personality, but there's no denying that she's an amazing lyricist. Glad to see her win these awards.

Also glad to see the horrifically underrated Bat For Lashes win.

Not too keen on Lily Allen or Silly Allen as I like to call her.

But made up that Johnny Marr, Paul Weller, Bat For Lashes were all rewarded!

Nominations: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/ne...tions.html?rss

Not sure who votes for the the Ivors but past winners and who were nominated have generally raised an eyebrow.

Pleased for Natasha...not so much for Lily and Paolo.
