German Audio on S4C
My Foxsat HDR has been very well behaved since the last software upgrade, no hangups at all.
First glitch was last Saturday with the Munster Vs Leinster match on S4C. No English audio at all, and a threatened riot at my house. Lucky I discovered that the German audio was in English, 10 minutes into the match. Anyone else come accross this?? |

The equipment comes with English usually as the default language. When Welsh speakers put the sport on S4C, they complained that it was in English - presumably because they were unable to go into the set up menu and change the language to Welsh. S4C then decided to upload the commentaries in reverse = Welsh on the English soundtrack and English on the Welsh soundtrack. This ridiculous situation now means that English speakers wishing to hear English language commentaries on sporting matches (when available), should change the desired language setting to WELSH in the set up menu. Presumably, German was left as English. Hence, S4C are now presumably paying guys to give an English commentary who are talking to themselves because nobody knows what what has happened - apart from zandar!
Euronews seems to be the only channel on Freesat available in German & the other Euro languages by changing these sound settings. |

You may want to also look at this thread when the same problem was discussed back in March:
