I don't feel manipulated at all - I watched E4 constantly, and while I certainly wouldn't have wanted to share a house with Brian, I voted for him to win because I felt he deserved it. Not just for being funny & entertaining, (although that helped) but also for other aspects of his character.
I have heard many of the housemates over the last 3 years say "I like that Big Brother, you feel you can really open up to him/her" or "I was flirting in there!!" - it's not uncommon for them to feel they have a bit of a rapport with some of the producers. Of course the editing can be biased - it's a TV show, they can edit it any way they want. My point is in Brian's case there was no need to. The likelihood is that any biased editing would not have been in Brian's favour anyway. Ruth Wrigley admitted in the "Best TV Moments 2001" programme that it was obvious he would win from the start, which meant they needed another "angle" to keep people tuning in, and that they were all delighted when the Helen & Paul relationship started up. It would seem then that any bias would have been spotted and eradicated PDQ!!
I must admit that Dean had a point about the housemates being in a vulnerable state after leaving the house - but when all's said and done we are talking about consenting adults, who are no longer in an oppressive and artificial situation. Who can blame them for celebrating in any way they see fit!

The producer concerned did not act unprofessionally in my eyes unless they were actually "at it" in the Diary Room!
