I never had Lauren down as the winner of the show but i have to say shes probably the only one out of all of them that i'd go out of my way to book and see in the WE.

No favourites at the start of the night, but after Lauren was singing I changed my view and wished she could have been the winner.

I do agree. No one really matched up to Amy's haunting beautiful version in week one until Lauren did her exit.
I also liked Steph's when she really went for that huge last note exit.

I thought it was beautiful

I think her performance in the end showed me why she shouldn't be Dorothy - it's a simple part without a huge amount of singing and probably isn't the best fit for Lauren's talents. It was the best exit song by miles (which I guess it should be on final night). Don't see what the fuss about Amy was all about - she should be a (good) pop singer, she just doesn't have a musical theatre voice.

Thought Danielle and, in particular, Sophie seemed very weak in their versions in comparison.

I think Lauren sang the best OTR but because she's the best singer, not because she's the best for Dorothy.

I still think Amy's performance was the best. Lauren's was definitely in the top 3 though.

I agree with all this. Amy's probably a lovely girl but I can't help but feel she's more suited to a pop career. And I thought the same even in her one solo line last night.

Lauren's OTR was wonderful.

She had the best voice, but I think Danielle and Sophie were better for the part. All 11 girls are lovely and talented, so I wish them all well and people should be happy for all of them, even if their favourite didn't win.

Except her best performance by a country mile was in 'If My Friends Could See Me Now'

I completely agree. She wasn't my favourite, and at first - like others - I found her arrogant, but she's won me over week by week.

I've seen various comments by people who know her in real life saying she's a lovely girl, and that's who I saw. She's had a bum deal throughout this show as the 'arrogant', 'annoying' one. There's virtually no justification for it.

She's a versatile, incredibly polished performer, who seems very sweet-natured, and a huge career beckons. Of all the girls she stands to have the widest range of roles open to her.

I felt exactly the same. I was litterally screaming by the end of it because it was so good.. I was a bit merry though. Lauren will go on to have the best career I think. She's far to good to just go back to her everyday life, and I think she'll be on stage before we know it.

I agree completely with Charlotte Church I am a little enamoured of Laurens voice there is a tone to it that I found very moving. I never thought she was right for Dorothy but she will be on the west end stage in a part that will suit her much better.

You know what?

Amy's version was actually pretty outstanding. Not as good as Laurens though

OTR will be just a footnote in Lauren's great career ..... how people labelled her as "arrogant" is beyond me .... some of her jokes were a bit naff though

I so agree.

In fact, for me Lauren's OTR was the best performance by miles during the whole series.

I honestly think Lauren out of all the Dorothy's (even Danielle) will have the most successful musical theatre career.

I'd bet money that's Steph or Jess. Lauren's voice is outstanding but the most successful contestants on these shows are not the better singers but the better actors, and Lauren's not a bad actress but she's not good either.

I agree about Jessica and with hindsight I actually believe she was best for the role of Dorothy. But I'm not sure about Stephanie as although I liked her, I didn't see any real star quality. I definitely don't agree about Lauren's acting and in any case she's only 22, so she's got plenty of time time develop more.

I meant Steph not Stephanie.

I think Lauren will always work but I think she won't be the most successful.

Oops! I do agree about Steph rather than Stephanie, but I don't see her in a leading lady role, more one of the top supporting roles e.g. Meat in WWWRY.

Bit like Rachel Tucker. Where is she now? Oh yeah one of the biggest roles in the west end, Elphba in Wicked. I think Steph will continue the 4th place kicks ass in the west end trend.

I think you will find that Lauren is/will be an excellent MT actress,Jill.

Anyone who saw her popular duet with Danielle can see that she can act well as well as smash it out of the park with her vocals.

Possibly some people didn't like her facial expressions on the close ups on t.v.That won't be a problem in musical theatre since only the first couple of rows would see the same close ups of people facial expressions.

If the whole Dorothy show was about casting for a play,i would have probably said Danielle was a much better fit than Lauren.

However, even though i believe Lauren is better suited to other musical roles i still think she would have made a better Dorothy than the others girls for the audiences who pay their money to watch/listen to these musicals.

I'm well aware of that, but I just don't see that for Steph (btw she was my favourite until she was knocked out). To me just doesn't have 'musical theatre leading lady' stamped on her forehead like Kerry or Rachel. Moving from Meat to Scaramouche was Kerry's big chance at moving up to leading lady and she was more than equal to it (I've seen her in both roles). Rachel already had masses of experience and just needed a break - and that's what she got.

To me Steph is the lead support actress who blows the audience away and steals the show, like Kerry did as Meat singing No-One but You (Only the Good Die Young). She'll never be out of work, but may never be a household name.

If Steph won the role of Dorothy I would have bought tickets, but that's because I can see her as Dorothy rather than simply the lead in a musical. I'd have gone to see Jessica too, but none of the others.
