Pity - Danielle will be horribly miscast - she is too hard-edged and emotionless to be Dorothy. The public missed a great chance in not giving Sophie a chance....

agreed - Danielle couldn't even hit the last note on OTR.

The last note thing annoyed me, but I think this thread's a bit harsh!

I think Danielle was vocally much weaker and lacking in tone, but she moves better. It's a shame Sophie didn't win because I'm pretty sure if Danielle had been second ALW would have given her a run at the part in any event, after Sophie, but not the other way round.

Hardly harsh - Danielle is too stage-school to be a genuine Dorothy. Too wordly-wise and not even a great singer...

I think she will be a great Dorothy. She must have been extrememly emotional.... They picked the right girl. imo of course.

There is no right or wrong.

There's only difference of opinion.

None of the girls were perfect, but Danielle has almost a year to rehearse the role so the finished article will be fine.

I think she'll do the role justice and I certainly don't feel like I made "the wrong decision" by voting for her.

I prefer Danielle's voice.

I think we should be as gracious as Sophie was in defeat and congratulate Danielle - a worthy winner. ALW and the public chose her. Can't argue with that

oh for goodness sake.......the public picked who they wanted if it didnt fit what you thought then thats really a bit of hard luck but its the way it is.

Danielle wasn't my favourite but I can't say she wasn't good! I think she'll do a great job and I enjoyed her performances more tonight than I ever have, I'm pleased for her.

Since when has your opinion been a reflection of that of the entire viewing public?

Those sour grapes must taste incredibly nasty

Well at least ALW is happy with the public's misguided choice! Let's hope ALW doesn't ask someone from Hollyoaks to replace Danielle as Dorothy!

I agree with the title thread but it's the name of the game I suppose. I'm happy for each girl though but I don't think I'll go see TWoO now as I actually wasn't a big fan of the musical beforehand. Oh that was until Sophie started singing the songs. Good luck to Danielle though! And Sophie - well she'll be a success very soon

I'm a Sophie fan and voted for her.... but at the end of the day whoever wins wins! Danielle got the most votes so everyone should be willing to give her a chance.

The public were manipulated to pick Danielle. Saved by the Lord, twice, even tonight told how wonderful she was by Charlotte, the Lord smiling, John clicking fingers etc. whilst she was performing. Even in the part where the parents/family were shown talking about their daughters, when it was the turn of Danielle's family, the judges were shown again saying how wonderful she was. Talk about sublimal persuasion.

I don't think she'll make a good Dorothy, I agree with others, she wasn't the best singer, nor the best dancer, nor even the funniest contestant, which Andrew stressed again tonight he wanted. She has a very hard expression too. Still I could be wrong, but I won't be going to see her, even though I don't live that far from London and even though she comes from where I was born and brought up, many years ago.

have some cheese with that wine of yours. It's like you know best or something.

Anyway. Danielle won so I'm not bothered. I wanted her to from the start.

Not that Sophie wouldn't have been good but Danielle will certainly not be miscast. I think she'll make a wonderful Dorothy. Hard edged? Where are you looking?

Bloody hell, Andrew is the demon headmaster! Curse his mind control! If only people had the power to think for themselves! Woe!
