The initial reviews of 'Les Miserables' were awful - and looked what happened to that show! I know a few people who've seen 'Love Never Dies' and all think it's brilliant.

No.In fact I've only ever been to one stage musical in my life.Will we Rock You,and I wished I'd gone to the cinema instead.
My long standing appeal is with Films.I prefer it's presentational style.I do have all the best filmed musicals on DVD however.My favourite musical on film is the Phantom of the Opera.Not the ALW version,but the 1961 Hammer Horror Film with Heather Sears (she was dubbed by opera singer Pat Clark)

What I like about OTR and for that matter X-Factor is the competitive element.Once its all over,thats it for me.

True. I've heard the actors are fantastic. I have to say I'm not a huge fan of soprano songs so I think even if the reviews are wrong I won't like it!

That's great then. She should love it if she can not get scared by the ape men. I don't think they will be scary in an ALW show anyway. Although saying that I found the toys coming to life in the Mary Poppins show creepy and I'm a grown up. lol

Hopefully there is a theatre near where she lives so she can see more live theatre not just musical and panto and become a real fan of it.

I've contacted the forum mods about creating a whole new section on the forums for live entertainment whether it's West End shows, local theatre, opera, ballet, modern dance or comedy clubs.
I'm sure there are lots of us that go to various forms of live entertainment and we could discuss them in it.

Most definitely will be going to see it. Would have gone regardless of whether Danielle or Sophie won, but must admit am pleased that Danielle got the ruby slippers as overall she deserved them. It will be the first West End show for my daughter (now five) and will be her sixth birthday treat (she wanted Danielle so was very happy).

I love musical theatre, saw Oliver last month and in two weeks am taking my Mum to see Sister Act. Can't go as much as I'd like, it is a long way from Devon...

She might enjoy 'Beauty and the Beast' - I don't know if it's touring, I don't think it's in the West End at the moment. I've seen it a few times in the West End and they were selling kiddies teeshirts with 'My very first West End musical' printed on them - bless :0)

I've seen Love Never Dies and absolutely loved it-it's really different to other shows I've seen + got my tickets for Wizard of Oz opening night can't wait!

No Dannielle is too "Jazz hands" for me,id have gone to see Sophie,Steph or Jenny
