Strange, alluring Danielle.

Did you think there was something special or different about her.

Or did you think she was just as talented as the rest. who gives a toss.

or did she just not stand out at all for you.

No nasty comments please. or accusations of bias.

Everyone has personal favourites and she was Webber's so obviously rammed down our throats. I'm sure she will do well in the role, but so could others that were dismissed and sidelined to make way for the favourite.
People do listen and take note of judges comments and this year it was unfair. Some of the duff song choices and negative feedback could and probably did affect some of the girls' chances.

I'd call her special. Maybe she's just a very good actress but when she performs I'm completely with her and she can make me understand a song even if i'm not taking in the lyrics.

I wanted Danielle to win from her first audition, she just had that something that made me think Dorothy, it was the same feeling I got when I first saw Jessie's audition and thought she is Nancy.
Is this Andrew thrusting her in my face or my own decision? I'd go with the latter.

Danielle didn't stand out for me, possibly because of all ALW's talk of wanting an edgy and different Dorothy..!

I don't see her as strange and alluring. I just think she is the best fit for the role of Dorothy, and the best all-rounder. Also I found her voice (and Steph's) the most appealing.

I thought she had a presence and looked very Dorothy-like in my mind.

Someone said she looked matronly. I agree, but maybe that was down to the make-up that always made her look older. Off duty and in the auditions she did look like a Dorothy. I've never subscibed to the chosen one theory.

See I thought Danielle did portray a different Dorothy to Judy's. Certainly moreso than a good portion of the contestants.

Judy was more unnassuming in her portrayal, that when she sung "Over the Rainbow" it was more somber, more wistful dreaming and her 'why can't I' was about her thinking it just won't happen for her where Danielle's attacked it with a portrayal of determination and her 'why can't I' was more 'I can make it happen'.

In fact I think her "Over the Rainbow" was the least like Judy's in terms approach than all the other girls.

Though of course physically she looked the part.

Yes and Yes.
I'm a confused individual... there was something about her that really got to me, but my head says she wasn't massively more talented than the rest of the crowd. I just loved her...Maybe that's it - her fans feel as if she's someone that they have a special, personal response to, even though others might not feel it? OK, now I'll shut up because I'm making even myself feel slightly nauseated, but I think there's some truthiness in there somewhere...

Lauren was my favourite, and after she left, I wanted Sophie to win. However, Danielle is absolutely fantastic, and will grow into being a fantastic Dorothy within the next year. She is the best actress of the three, and looks really pretty. I thought her reprise of Mambo was even better than the first time she performed it, and it might be my fave performance of the whole series. I liked the first part of her 'Over The Rainbow' but to be honest, she was awful in the last part. She couldn't even hit the last note (and some of the ones leading up to it). You might think she wants to keep it small and subtle, but to be honest, she could NOT hit those notes. And it is something that we've seen that in all her other performances. It might work ok in the stage show if she does it without singing the high parts, but as the finale to the programme, it was a HUGE letdown that she didn't do it.
But as ALW said, a lot of vocal training will hopefully sort it out for her. I'm surprised Charlotte or any of the others didn't pick up on it. But she still totally deserves to be Dorothy, and I will be looking forward to following her career.

Danielle just didn't draw me in. There is no question that she is a massive talent and I thought she sang "Over The Rainbow" better than the other two. I just never found her exciting to watch. Maybe she is just that good that we don't need to see her true personality come out.
I think that she will do the job very well. Good Luck to her.

Lauren was my favourite singer and I also loved Sophie's voice. Both sang very well last night and I did think that Danielle had a less demanding song with 76 Trombones. She was praised by the panel for being able to dance while singing it too. Lauren didn't exactly stand still from what I saw. Oh well.
