I'll echo the common theme of Bronte going too early

Also the rubbish songs that some of the poor girls had to sing !

Perhaps another one would be the uneven playing field for some of the girls ,I am thinking of things like Jenny and dog gate.

Also nothing against lauren who was an excellant singer and I am sure a lovely person but why put her through to the finla when she had already had 2 times in the bottom 2, it seems to me to be a waste of a place when it is obvious that she will never win when the public are not supporting her, mind you wasn't that also true of Steph and Danielle at that point in which case I am talking rubbish but ALW should have a 2 strikes and your out policy or else people like Helena and lauren will get through to the final . Despite them having lovely voices the public has not warmed to them and so if they get to the singo off stage next time them should automatically go despite the fact that a so called worse singer is left. Sometimes it is not the best singer who wins but the one who somehow connects with the public and since this is after all a popularity contest that should be who wins in the end

In OTR everyone ended up in the bottom two at some point, so it wasn't as clear cut as the situation in previous series where there were contestants who got to the final without ever having been in the bottom two.

With regards to Helena (HDYSAPLM), she actually did gain in popularity towards the end of the competition, as she upped her game. There were two evictions in the semi-final and Helena wasn't in the bottom two either time, suggesting that she was getting votes - then, in the final, she got second place, again suggesting that she did have public support.

In ADWD, there was the Lewis situation, but even then, he was in the semi-final sing-off with fellow repeat bottom two-er Ben, and there were four contestants who, between them, were involved in every bottom two (Ben, Craig, Chris B and Lewis).

In IDA, as with ADWD, we had two finalists who had never been in the bottom two, and the other finalist had only been in the bottom two once (I think).

All sorts of things can have a baring on ALW's choice of save - he could genuinely think the contestant is right for the role being cast, or he could think "This one is bound to be in the sing-off again, so I'll get rid of the first timer as this may be my only chance to do so". Or, he could think "They're both not right for the role, but I have to choose one, so..."

The sing-offs have thrown up some odd bottom twos and some seemingly bizarre decisions on ALW's part. Though I have noticed that he's often saved the person who didn't have the lowest number of votes. Which actually does make sense.

On OTR, he only saved the person with the lowest votes once. That was Lauren when she was in the bottom two with Jenny. On the other shows, I'm not sure how many times he saved the person with the lowest votes. I'm pretty sure that two of the four times he saved Helena on Maria, she got the lowest votes.

According to Wikipedia the following were saved when bottom with the public:

I'd Do Anything : Keisha x2, Ashley, Rachel, Samantha
Any Dream Will Do : Chris Teeth, Craig, Ben

They don't have the stats for HDYSAPLM but I definitely remember Helena bottoming out a couple of times. He's been positively restrained this series.

that's right it causes loads of arguments but if we had got rid of it and just gone for the lowest one the only difference would have been Jenny staying and I don't think many people expected her to win it so the overall result would probably been the same - though with a lot less arguments altough I'm sure the conspiracy theorists would have moved on to song choices
