I didn't see the attraction to angel dunno why I think he's hot now and actually watched the ep where vamp will came through to sunnydale today and he was actually good looking then too.

You were watching the SyFy Channel, weren't you? So was I, I saw it too!

SyFy has Angel, and Buffy Series 1-3, FX has Buffy Series 4-7.

Last week i bought the dvds of The Grudge (extended director's cut), The Return, and Southland Tales. All starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, I'm going to have an SMG triple bill sometime soon.

Me, a tub of ice cream, some ice-cold cans, and SMG!! What's not to die for?

lol ye I was well that just sucks I wouldn't mind watching series 4-7 I was in love with spike was majorly surprised to find out he's old enough to be my dad. When's True Blood restarting series 3 cos virgin usually gives you free fx then and I'm not allowed to upgrade the tv as I can't justify it to my mum

Buy a copy of Total TV Guide (£1) which like the rest of the TV weeklies, comes out each Tuesday, a few days before the Saturday on which its week starts. Show it to your mum and point out the channels and their programmes,you think she might like, eg all of the Living Channels, Hallmark, Bio, etc etc and let her draw her own conclusions....

That's one of the two that I get each week, the other is the Radio Times (£1.10), cos of its radio pages.

As most of us are Buffy boffs, I thought 'd change the subject a wee bit and ask, who was your favourite character? Either from Angel or Buffy?

Mine would have to be Faith, I loved her hard girl attitude & she had some awesome 1 liners..!

I'd say Doyle (if he counts as he was only in like 6 eps) from Angel I loved him was gutted when he got killed.

I remember when Buffy had that episode where - in a dream - Buffy and Angel get married, walk out of the church and then he explodes into a flaming ball of...flame - there was a picture of SMG in a wedding dress with DB next to her, and fandom went absolutely insane, thinking it was real. Either that was because we were just in love with the idea of DB & SMG being together in real life (I know I was), or whether the rumours had already started about them.

Anyway, speaking of favourite characters - I did love Buffy, but my favourite character probably was Willow. Just because she grew the most in those seven years out of all of them, and became, I would say, the most powerful one of them all. Buffy was the Slayer out of necessity, and all those superhuman powers were, in a way, handed to her and, as we often saw, could be taken away from her. But Willow worked hard at her skill and, imo, earned that strength. Plus, she was just too cute .

I hated Faith in Seasons 1-3 but I enjoyed her more in Angel and loved her in Season 7 Buffy. I always liked the concept of her character, and the whole yin-yang side to her relationship with Buffy - she was the dark, evil Buffy while Buffy was light. But we already had one wise-cracking kickass vampire slayer and Faith seemed initially too much of an intrusion. She was meant to be an edgier Buffy (and does anyone recall that episode where Cordelia wished Buffy had never come to Sunnydale? When Buffy finally arrived, she was an even edgier Faith-alike, which was interesting) and I understand her value in the show for that.

Man, I could go on writing essays about Buffy - love it to bits and even now will have complete marathons watching the first 3 seasons. On a side note, does anyone remember DB's first episode in Buffy? He looks so young and fresh faced

Many took it as gospel because it seemed to make sense. It is interesting to note, though, that Glenn was good friends with David Boreanaz and Christian Kane, and the three remained close after Glenn left the show. This would be rather unsual if he'd been fired (it's generally a bad idea to hang out with someone who was fired from your current job, especially for drugs)

I remember being very sad when Doyle died, despite having known him for only so long, but having Cordy die or Wesley not joining in Doyle's place would have been worse. It was a very interesting thing to do, especially for Cordy's character and, it was also a shocking thing to do on Joss's part - he had killed off a loved character on Buffy before (Jenny), but Doyle was a main character, and most other shows always played it easy and kept things nice and sweet. It set a precedent in showing us that no character was safe (not even Buffy!) and that Joss had no compunctions about taking our love for our characters and twisting it in the worst possible ways. Killing off Anya, Fred, Wesley and Cordelia showed that he wasn't afraid to take risks and to shock us all. It was very clever, if ruthless. In shows like Buffy & Angel, we couldn't expect everything to always be happy, sunshine etc, no matter how much we wanted to. In life there are casualties and he approached this very well, particularly in killing Anya and saving Andrew in the finale of Buffy. It was twisted humour but it was what Joss was best at.

xander grew on me- hated him at first and I liked lorne too

I like Wesley! I wish I was him except for when Faith tortured him, Wes was cool. He may have died before his time, on Angel, but we won't forget him. I know Willow won't, lol!

The Buffy series was absolutely fantastic. I think this was one of the rare times when the plot lines and characters just completely gelled together perfectly. Brilliant to watch ..... in my opinion.

wes got better in the final 2 series of angel although he was a pain in buffy

is it just me or was angelus quite sexy? lol-

david boreanaz I thought was good in the role plus angel was irish (although his accent was bad) to which made me dead proud at the time (i'm obviously irish)

Yeah, I hate that people think he was fired.

I liked that they had the storyline involving Doyle in the last season.

The Mayor was great, he was so charming and nice it was hard to believe he was evil. He turned down Faith when she offered herself to him, saying that he was a 'family man' but we never saw a wife or a gf, only a wife in flashbacks. Possibly my fave villain was Snyder, he was a git. Didn't deserve to be eaten though. Also, Drusilla, she was mad, and I hated it when she slit Kendra's throat.

There are a lot of Americans descended from Irish immigrants so it makes sense to make Angel have an Irish background, like the rest of his 'mates'.

I'm glad you are proud of your Irish background. You have every reason to be, the Irish are cool, and Ballykissangel was one of my favourite series, got the boxsets of the first five series.

Sorry but as a straight man I can't comment on how sexy Angelus was. I'll say that Buffy is so hot she sizzles, I also like Harmony that way but she's gotta keep away from my neck!

I have lots of different favourites.

My favourite character, in terms of "who could I watch endlessly", was probably Andrew. "Storyteller" is still one of the funniest episodes in the whole show. And every time he was on screen, I wanted to hear him speak. He was a post-modern, whiney but absolutely loveable geek with all the best lines. Anya is a close run for second funniest.

My favourite actor was Alyson Hannigan as Willow. Her performances just got stronger and stronger. By season 6, her season, she was just incredible. As good as any of the A list actresses in movies; better in fact. It's an enduring mystery to me that she hasn't carved out a huge career as a character actress in films. Needs a new agent.

Favourite in terms of "who I care most about" has to be Buffy. Sarah Michelle Gellar probably wasn't even the second strongest actor in the cast but she absolutely made me believe in that character and invest totally in her journey.

In "Angel" it would have to be Cordelia. Wow did that character grow from being the blunt, selfish, cruel princess from Buffy, into a woman with depth and heart and courage. She stayed funny though.

snyder wasn't really a villain- he was more of a authoritarian and just wanted order but never wanted anyone to die
