Sad really becuase when he first came out he was some what fresh the whole Slim Shady personality, then the more dark Marshall Mathers persona or the real slim shady. After that the Eminem show that killed his steam along with 8 miles he has wen't down since that.

It's been released early, that's why. It was originally meant to be released on June 14th, It's only just started getting airplay on Radio 1, and the video hasn't premièred yet.

It'll pick up gradually over the coming weeks, don't worry about that, it's one of his best ever songs imo.

He's not doing that bad. #46 is good enough for a song that was only released today. I'm sure it will rise in the next few days.

Eminem was number one on USA itunes for 2 weeks there. For some reason UK radio has only been issued his new single this week. It's been available on other countries itunes for much longer. He will be in the UK next week though so the single will do well.

He's not done any promotion yet though has he? I know he's on Jonathan Ross in a couple of weeks. #46 seems pretty decent for me, for only one day on there.

Anyway, at this point in his career and with the stuff he'd been through, sales aren't the be-all-and-end-all for him.

There has been no promotion. The video isn't even out yet and his new album is out in 4 weeks and we haven't even seen a cover for it nor do we even know a tracklist for it and why should we? He's nothing left to prove at all although a street date 4 weeks from now means it will leak online in 3 weeks from now and it feels strange knowing that this album is gonna leak in 3 weeks and we know nothing about it other than this single. Don't even know the names of any other songs on the album.

He's the biggest selling artist of the decade. A lot of big artists came about in the last10 years and he's sold the most records. That is a huge achievement and no one can take that away from him.

^Agreed. He really doesn't need to sell big numbers any more. He's been there and done that.

Also, album sales matter more than singles.

86 million is more accurate and that is only albums, not including singles.

Then he definately has nothing to worry about! How many more has he sold with D12?

I really don't know about that but according to wikipedia it is over 10 million albums worldwide. I'm sure that is accurate but i don't really know much about the sales for D12's albums and singles. I don't think those albums along with 2006's Re-Up compilation album go towards his final sales figures. I'm sure the 86 million albums sold are just his own solo albums.

That's what I thought. I'd imagine he's closer to 100 million if you add D12, and other albums he's appeared on and stuff. Again, just shows why one single not being high in the charts after just one day of release with no promo really isn't a big deal.

He's nothing left to prove but you can bet if it was anyone else who was Artist of The Decade it would be in all the papers and everyone would know but because it's him its all hushed up. He only has one more album on his current contract and i hope he doesn't do anymore than that, he should go out on top while his voice is still able to cope with most of his songs. He is nearly 40 now and he is starting to look at it in this pic with Justin Bieber.

Sure he might be stone cold sober and doesn't have any signs of a fun personality anymore but for the sake of his health he needs to stay like this. Sometimes during interviews you can see a little twinkle of the old Eminem and it is nice to see and good to remember some happier times but i think being this way now he might just surprise some people who never gave him a chance before. HIs 2 overdoses in 2005 weren't the only times he did that, he tryed to top himself in 1995 too and i think this new album is gonna be the first real Eminem album, no BS, no joking around and no hatred for anyone.

When first came on the scene he was fresh and exciting. Now like most artists, a lot of his followers have gone elsewhere, and his singles arent the must buys of the past. Fact! Many great artists of the past have gone the same way.

I don't think that's true considering he is still hitting number one in America when other singles (which you consider to be must buys) weren't.

dont forget he hasnt done any promo here really for it and the same happened to Christina's not Myself Tonight...plus they're both on Jonathan Ross in a couple of weeks which will be great! and that's before Bionic is released by Aguilera and a few weeks before Recovery is released.
albums matter more than singles for this pairing at the moment.i mean the promo for both artists have been rediculously poor the past month!

He's a white man who has conquered the rap/hip hop genre. He can't be beaten and no artist from now on in will ever be able to top his first week sales of 1.76 million for The Marshall Mathers LP back in 2000. He is the artist of the decade selling over 86 million in the last 10 years, lets see who can sell that number in the next 10 years or come anywhere close to it. You can't take any of those accolades away from him and when you see all these flavour of the month artists in the charts it really shows you how laugable it all is. He will also be headling T in The Park this year so that in itself is a huge promo for the album.

According to his Twitter he will reveal the album cover today. His manager said on his own Twitter earlier this week that he had finished writing the lyrics and credits for the booklet and now there are reports that the CD is being packed later this week which means..........leaks will not be far off!
