Im loving Rory atm, i am glad he has become this sort of second companion, adds new diversity into the Tardis etc..

Think he's a breath of fresh air, and im sort of liking him more then Amy - as much as i Love her too!

ANyone else like-wise??

I think Rory is great, he should have had more speaking lines in the last ep!

Same here, but it's more the writing of a particular writer than anything else. I did not like him in the vampire episode, but I changed my mind now. Now that Amy wasn't there he got a chance to get out of her shadow and he did. They should forget her under the ground and move on

I have a feeling that it may not end well for Rory, its a long time since we had a companion killed off, and they seem to be building to someting with the character.

Rory is more likeable than Amy, but I find Amy to be a more interesting character. I think her background has caused her to develop into a bit of a cold person - she's clearly a somewhat troubled girl. Rory is highly amusing and fun to watch, but doesn't have much depth.

I have to admit that I prefer him to Amy who I just havent warmed to as much as I thought I would after the first episode.

I like him so much more than Amy, in the same way that I preferred Mickey to Rose, both men are sweet and are treated badly by their girlfriends, who are both miserable pouty selfish girls

Can we have Rory and Amelia for companions please

I agree, though to be fair, he hasn't had much exposure yet.

I love him, and I think he's a great contrast to Amy, that's why I think he works so well with KG. Some great banter with MS too:

"Anytime you wanna help?!"
"Can't you sonic it?"
"Doesn't do wood."
"That is rubbish!"
"OI!! Don't diss the sonic!!"

I like Rory more than Amy, too. There's something about him that doesn't seem right. Still, I find him more appealing (character-wise) than Amy.

I agree with this. I loved Amy in the 1st episode but my admiration has gone steadily downhill ever since. Shes acting like someone who has been there, seen it all, has the t-shirt and is too flippant about it all. I prefer Rorys reactions to being with the Doctor, they are much more believable

Amy looks better in a short skirt than Rory ever could

He is a good male companion though. But I always prefer the female ones

I agree. There's going to be a reason for everything about Amy but at the moment I prefer Rory, though I don't think he's all he seems either. Is anything this series? It's not a disaster, sometimes you take to one compantion more than the another, been there & done that once or twice, but when there's only one it can get a bit annoying. Still, I am loving this series.

I'm loving it too. Matt has been incredible and i'm hoping that my increasing niggles and irritations about Amy are going to be resolved at some stage when we're given an explanation about why Amelia heard the tardis when she was sitting waiting on her suitcase.

*fingers crossed*

If not i can still live with having her as a companion. Having Rory there improves things but nothing could take away from my enjoyment of watching Matt anyway lol

I think the two characters compliment each other perfectly - Amy is confident, Rory is uncertain, Amy is enthusiastic, Rory is cautious. Amy needs Rory to ground her. Rory needs Amy to bring him out of himself.

Agreed. I think the dynamic of three of them in the TARDIS works a lot better than just Amy and the Doctor.

But why did I enjoy almost amyless episode with Rory only? I don't need a cold snarky bitch to balance out Rory's imperfections.

Funnily, I disagree apart from the last sentence - Amy is used to being indepedent; no way she would look for an "uncertain" and "cautious" guy to "ground" her. Honestly, relationship-wise I think they are no good fit at all. Good thing it is just a TV show and no real feelings get hurt

I agree. I also liked it this week when the Doctor told Rory he needed him onside. Rory is an important part of the current Tardis crew and I think all 3 are a good fit

Was just thinking as I was watching the latest episode how much I enjoy Rory. Amy's good too, but I quite like the combination of the three of them.

But that's the point - she didn't realise it either. What she needs is not necessarily what she wants. Remember, she wanted the Doctor.
