Albums/Songs you like but didn't think you would.

Have you ever listened to an album by an artist and expected it to be really bad and been suprisingly pleased by it?

Perfect Example:

Paris Hilton - Paris. I downloaded this to see if she could sing and to find out if any of her songs were any good. I expected a terrible album but I LOVED the album, and still enjoy listening to it but when I tell people they laugh because its Paris Hilton.

Nowadays I try hard not to judge a book by its cover...but I remember as a child being bored and putting on a couple of Manhattan Transfer cassettes that were lying around, expecting to hate them...but being pleasantly surprised.

Alicia Keys - Element of Freedom. I'd only heard 'No One', 'Empire State of Mind' (both versions) and 'Doesn't Mean Anything' prior to buying the album so knew it would be a risk. I've never particulary been a fan of her, nor found her music very interesting but took the plunge with this album and it's fantastic. 'Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart' and 'How It Feels To Fly' are amazing, plus the singles and 'This Bed'/'Like The Sea' are so catchy, too....ohh and 'Put It In A Love Song' with Beyonce should sooo be a single.

The Fame Monster - Lady GaGa ~ I liked some of the singles, heard some of the album and thought they were just fillers...got the album for christmas and it is now one of the most played albums on my laptop.
Rated R by Rihanna. Wasn't really a fan of Russian Roulette when I first heard it, I heard a few snippets from the album, got it because I was a fan of GGGB and I love the album.

Pass Out i HATED when i first heard it, but i now am loving that tune and Frisky Tinie Tempah has indeed grown on me a fair bit! not usually a fan of grime really but it's different new and unusual and i like it.

Ellie Goulding's album i took a gamble with as it's her debut album and everything and had only heard Starry Eyed prior to this and Lights is a fantastic album! so very pure and i predict she will have a fantastic future ahead of her! much like Florence & The Machine (the only difference is i knew more about Florence when i ordered Lungs which became my favourite album from the UK last year!)

those are mine for now

Guns and Horses by Ellie Goulding. Never understood the hype she had to begin with but love this song, even more than Starry Eyed.
