There seems to be a very Peter Davison reluctance to confront the Silurians this time around???

The Doctor has been trying to avoid conflict with the Silurians since their first appearance. As Earth's original inhabitants, he sees their point of view. They aren't invaders.

Although this time it looks like its the Silurians who are going to be war-like and unreasonable rather than us. Won't that be odd?

My guess is Mr-I've-been-stung is going to come under the influence of the Warrior-caste female prisoner and she will make him kill her in an effort to start a war.

And provoking a turf war is the last thing he wants to do. Unfortunately, that's exactly what both sides appear to want to do.

From the Next Time, it looks like an element of the Silurians are out to provoke an incident, probably the Warrior-caste

I thought it would be his daughter. She lost her husband and son to the Silurians. Now her dad may be dying from their venom. She was also the one to bring all those weapons (and didn't seem like she put them away when the Doctor told her to, either)

She has the best motive and opportunity to carry out the killing.

I thought that might be the scarlet kipper. The Doctor made it clear that her best hope of getting her husband and son returned is through a prisoner exchange. So she has more reason that anyone to keep her alive. Unless the Warrior caste can convince her they are already dead of course!

Yeah, she's got the look in her eyes, the motive and the tools.
The dad has also been seen to be aggressive and territorial, and now he's been badly, possibly fatally injured by them. So he also has a motive.

Therefore, we can be sure it's not going to be either of them.
My money's on Rory. Seriously. They've got Amy, and they're threatening to hurt her.

and he's not in all the remaining episodes, so maybe he gets binned from the Tardis for causing another confrontation.

The Radio Times review hints at this, or something perhaps even more tear-jerking...happening to Rory, that is.
