Ah, the cardy army. She doesnt have the life of a middle aged woman therefore why should she behave like one? Life changes every single day and generations are shifting and flexing constantly. The need to 'act your age' is so old at these days.

i agree!! i mean acting your age is how you feel, when i am 50 i aint gonna act 50!! who would!?!? Madonna has done another daring thing the past decadeandthere's always criticism aimed her way, LIVE LIFE!! Madonna always shift the wheel up a ear or two with each release, why do you think she has the largest fanbase in theg globe?!?! others oldewrthan her dress like theirage because they're not daring enough, Annie still has that rock chic look and so does Debbie Harry (Blondie) andthey havefarless thrown their way. Madonnacan do everything that's why loadsare jealous, and i despite fidingitherworst album cover LIKE Hard Candy because it shows the bitter and the sweet, but i preferred the other promo photo with herin the wrestling ring, that would have been awesome.

i like the darker colours here!

also her new photoshoot for Interview Magazine!! she looked exactly how shedidin the 90's, and thewoman looks amazing!!
so all this acting her age nonsense is rediculous, Mick Jagger doesnt and shouldn't so why should she?!?! oh yeah becauseshe's a female musician and not male, we live in a sick ageist and sexist society. i thought people matured to be honest!! shelooks sexy as ever.
so in 34 years time when i am herage dont expect me to ACT MY AGE!! she's an inspiring woman and alongwith AnnieandStevie Nicks and Rose Stone as being my favourite female musiciansoutthere. butthe Madonna machineis goingas strongas ever 30 years into her career and in her fourth decade!!

To be fair, thats hardly a natural photoshoot...theres quite a bit of photoshopping going on there Even still, most of her candids are great. Ignore the ones that appear on gossip blogs and Heat magazine - they have a habit of distorting and sharpening the images to make them look even worse.

there may be some photoshop but have you seen the video of the photo shoot down below the images? she looks so great there, itisa nice echo back to the Like A Virgin/ Like A Prayer/Erotica period with some Confessions flare!! which is great as i LOVE these era's plus her interview is so genuine, i love how sheuses humour andcontinually is thankful of her early beginnings and the LGBT community andherhuman rights activism, and still talks about Sean Penn about his Milk portrayal. it's so brilliant, a real iconic figurein music, i just wanther nextalbum to beagainst the grain and rock/house inspired to really push asideotherpop starsout there who arereferredto as god or queen or whatever!!

to me Xtina,Britney and Kylie are princesses in comparison really (lovethem in different degrees! and cannot wait for Bionic or Brit's next album!) but Madonna is MADONNA!!

what do you mean 'she doesnt have the life of a middle aged woman'.... she IS middle aged and she IS alive..

theres something rather sad and pathetic about old women trying to act young. theres NOTHING WRONG with acting your age with dignity and poise. no, she doesnt have to be 'old', but the classiest women have the wherewithall to know and understand, how to be young at heart, and sexy, without acting like kesha.!!!

OLD?!?!? She's only 51! That ain't old. If she's still doing the splits at the ripe old age of 80 then you might have a point but not at 51.

To your logic Tina Turner should be sat at home knitting sweaters instead of performing around the world.

Sorry, but im also the same age as a number of actors and musicians however I dont live their life, just as Madonna doesnt live the life of your average middle aged woman. You could also follow your theory and say that I have the life of a 24 year old tortoise just because im 24 and living

Madonna doesnt act like Kesha. I fail to see how you come to that conclusion? Is it because she wore a leotard about 4 years ago? Is it because she looked good in that leotard? Is it because she has a younger man? Tbh, I fail to see these accusations being directed towards a large percentage of Male hollywood. Jack Nicholson and George Clooney get on like theyre in their 30s and are much more notorious for that than Madonna.

Sounds like sour grapes to me. Seriously, this is 2010...not 1940. Why people are so hung up on forcing people to act a certain way as each decade passes...well its beyond me.

i was amazed that she was 70!! i love her too and she doesn't feel the need to dress it down a bit, she's out there rocking the globe, sure she hasn't remained at the top for continuous decades like Madonna has but Tina is still performing in big sell out crowds and doesn't fell the need to slow it down.

age is age, and Madonna and Tina act their ages but in different ways. i personally see Madonna filling out stadiums in her 70's actually but then she may well indeed have turned it down and by then i will be nearing 40! scary thoughts!!

everyone dresses in different ways, hence why EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT!! i love Madonna for it, she doesn't feel the need to ACT young because she is still YOUNG! and maaan she is MIIIGHTY FINE!! so stop criticising because i can tell that these comments are getting a little spiteful towards her when there is no need to be.

we all act our ages hence why we are the ages we are! but what is acting your age?!?! you can act your age and wear and do anything you want!
and if i wanted to act like i am in my 50's i'd look to Madonna or Bruce Willis for inspiration most definitely!!

Madonna in a leotard works, Whitney in a dress where the straps snap!....nah!!!
Madonna is so iconic and pretty and a wonderful person too! no one can take that away from her and her albums and music material is still going strong to this day!!

nonsense, theres plenty of middle aged women with madonnas lifestyle that behave with dignity, maturity and class. ive already mentioned several female artistes of her generation, theres a big difference between acting like a child and having a young outlook on life.

'act in a certain way'?... whats wrong with being mature? classy? dignified? that aint the same as being old.

i think your last line says it all... lol..

Ohirome i praise you!!!
people forget that Madonna ISN'T the average woman either, she's almost godlike in persona and stamina! why dress it down when that is so boring, Madonna is a clourful person, why should she wear blue denim long dresses and dark jumper tops?!?! Madonna is iconic in that respect and works it!! i take it Mushymanrob needs to pay that slightest bit more attention and see who he is talking about and why she would feel the need to listen!

i thing Madonna she still keep going and maybe dress in a black slimline leotard next and go for a more punkish look (i actually want her to do that!) but she looks so vibrant in her Confessions era and actually really classy lady and for Hard Candy she kicked some big colours out there and as always some attitude!

madonna is a young lady, when she is 70 odd she may feel the want to tone it down...but even then she's legend!

but NONE of them are Madonna, Kate Bush is Kate Bush and Annie Lennox is Annie Lennox and i love them but neither have had the longevity Madonna has because Madonna has remained so exciting and contemporary and continuously shifted the gear of music even the past ten years she brought out William Orbit,Mirwais and Stuart Price into the mainstream with her albums! and her collaborated work. Annie and the Eurythmics were at their height in the 80's and i have ALL their albums! but since then she hasn't been at the top for a few decades now! because she has remained the same and has always been that way. Kate has always had her own style too and never dressed in punky colours.

you should honestly look and SEE how these women are different, and i think they're each fans of each others work! but theyre each in different leagues to one another.

Annie has ALWAYS dress in that class way (she even dressed as a man several times) and Kate has always had some colour and peculiar dress sense but because she doesnt stay in the limelight you have know idea what she is doing right now!! but Arial was a decent recording! and despite that it didnt get her to the top again i'm afraid. why?!?! her look wasnt promoted enough and she only had one single released!

Madonna has always had sleek new looks and always rejuvinated the scene!! and because you yourself are 53 and dont act your age why do you expect Madonna to do the same?!?! she has always pushed the lines and always looks glamourous and many do think the same...millions of fans around the globe cite her appearence and her music as inspiration from Britney Spears and Beyonce through to Jay Z,Dizzee Rascal and Rihanna. even U2!

so dont be here criticising Madonna please when her albums have added another 50 million album and singles sales over the past decade alone! and she's still going!!
]
also a difference, Madonna is an artist and exhibits herself in her video's and albums which is why she is so different to many others!!

And again, Madonnas lifestyle isnt the same as those people. Why on earth SHOULD she bow down and act like the rest of the world just because people like you think she should? If she was the size of a house and walking around with no clothes on, id say you had a point however she wears 'classy' clothes and when doing her day to day thing wears pretty casual and relaxed outfits - some dodgy but never slutty. She has always been provocative throughouth er career - again, why stop because you think she should be wearing her cardigan and turning into Debbie Harry? Sounds like your problem rather than hers.

Ah, whatever happened to feminism. A woman who is at the top of her game, in control of her sexuality and th industry around her...yet people think she should be baking cookies and shopping in Laura Ashley.

May I also add that her 'contemporaries' are nowhere near the level shes at and havent been for a long time. Cyndi Lauper is a laughing stock, though shes a great advocate of AIDs charities. Debbie Harry looks like hell and hasnt had a decent record since the 80s. Tina Turner is quite a bit older and, while shes great, she'd be lost without the 'hits'. Kate Bush is as mad as a sack of frogs. Who else?

i love Kate's albums from the 80's though

but apart from that i agree!! Madonna is a force and resembles what everyone in the industry should be, she has some Male characteristics and mannerisms in the fact that she's direct and has so much inspiring to write, perform and show to the world. Madonna's exciting and ozzes COOLNESS!! i mean Tarantino is a friend of her's you cannot get much cooler than that! i love the woman and she represents so much of what the industry needed to be and made the pop scene an amazing place i find! even now we've had Music,American Life, Confessions On A Dance Floor and Hard Candy and has spawned so many new records as well as breaking older records. the Confessions tour became the highest grossing by a female artist and then the Sticky & Sweet broke that record with the highest grossing tour by a solo artist of all time!
who's gonna bet her next tour will be the biggest world tour ever?? heck i am going to go to her next one as she's got so many amazing shows!! and her next album she's going to really kick forward the scene and move the wheel up several notches as she did with Ray Of Light and Confessions, and look at their successes!!! Age is just a number, doesn't mean a thing! Live your life how you want to and that is what Madonna is doing and she still has it so she might as well flaunt it!

sorry... who said she should be baking cakes and shopping at laura ashley?...

feminism was against mass exploitation of women by using sexual imagery... madonna isnt a feminist, shes a media whore thatll do anything to sell records!

i see theres no point in trying to debate the issue with people who think shes a godess....lol.. she aint.

... and thats the problem... flaunting it... anything to sell. when she first did it it made a statement, now its just sad that a mature woman needs to flaunt it in order to get attention.

whats wrong with dignity? maturity? class? you can be as sexy as hell without bareing flesh.
