Seems Vincent and the Doctor, like Cold Blood is listed as 50 minutes, I wonder if they'll continue this trend and have an hour episode to finish off.

Also, would people here prefer a longer series with 30 minute episodes, or the current format?

LONGER episodes if anything!! 45 aint long enough, 60 mins would allow for further development and fleshed out storyline, 30 mins is just unthinkable!!!
i want more Matt!! not less, he's amazing! and also i hope The Big Bang is longer as it is the finale and they should be!

I think The Big Bang is a stupid name for a finale, and they should have called it 'Silence Will Fall' or 'Silence Falls' in order to link it to the first episode being named after the opening line of the prophecy.

Just seen that Richard Curtis wrote Vincent and the Doctor. Almost enough to get my hopes up. Wishing more Blackadder than Love Actually though.

I'm reserving judgement on how clever the title is till we've seen it. I tend to trust the Moff with titles.

The 'explosion' that creates the cracks was described as a big bang by the Doctor in Flesh and Stone.

Is this a good time to mention the finale is on the same night as England's most likely 2nd round match (ie. if they win their group.) Kick-off 7.30pm.

If BBC cover it, it would mean Dr Who having to have a 6.00pm - 6.15pm start. All of which could influence its length.

If it happens that way BBC are covering it, from their World Cup site, "The first England match on the BBC will be the final Group C fixture, against Slovenia on 23 June at 1500 BST. This will be followed by England's last-16 and quarter-final matches, should they progress to the knockout stages."

How can you say that when you haven't even seen the episode?

No it won't, because it's already been filmed. Postponement's more likely.

Why does everything have to fit around bloody sport? I don't care about overpaid nobodies in shorts kicking a ball around and neither does a sizable chunk of the population, but they always seem to muck up the schedules for this rubbish.

It's been filmed but the editing process is a long and changeable one.

Doctor Who is exclusive, the football isn't. If you don't watch it live, you won't watch it at all.
