Best Soap Child Actor?
Soap kids are often monotonous camera-conscious actors/actresses who appear in a maximum of 3 scenes a month. However now and then we are priviliged to witness one or two true gems that deserve credit for breaking the trend.
Here are those I think should get a mention, but if you can come up with others to add feel free to do so. Chesney (corrie) David (Corrie) Craig (Corrie) I'm aware David and Craig aren't really kids anymore, but David was always great even when he was younger.. and Craig is under a certain age and has proved he's got talent so.... I tried my best to come up with some EE kids to add but I nobody springs to mind really.. |

Chesney is brilliant! Craig and David (heh) are good but Sam Aston is very young and kids that young can rarely act properly. He is brilliant!

In Corrie Chesney is very good where as in Emmerdale Daz is good too.

I wonder what the new Sophie in Corrie will be like? Can't be worse than the former one surely? Rosie is appalling to say the least however..
How about Ricky's son in EE? He was adorable! And not half bad a lil actor either, even though his scenes were very few. "Bye Bye Auntie Janine.." Awwwwww! He had such a cute hairstyle too. Liam, wasn't it? |

Chesney has to be my favourite, I really sympathised with his character during the scenes with Cilla leaving.
I occasionally watch Hollyoaks these days & I have to say the wee boy who plays Tom is fab. Granted it's not too difficult with most of them but he outshines all the adults on the show IMO. My favourite child actor in EE's was the wee boy who play Kofi Tavernier ( Clyde's son) . |

Chesney, Sam Aston, is the best child actor I've ever seen. He just comes over completely naturally. Perhaps there just aren't that many to choose from, but the majority of British child actors, who presumably have come straight from stage or theatre schools, can't seem to help over-acting because they've been taught to project themselves - as they would if they wanted to be heard on the stage and so they, over-enunciate their words, and exaggerate their expressions and have no idea how to underplay a part, which is far more natural.

Lol... most incredulously BAD child actors ever were those in Glenroe. All you Irish users will probably remember how terrible a show it was in general.. but the kids! There are no words to describe how tragic they were!

3. Chesney (corrie(
2. Daz (emmerdale) 1. Daz's-brother-can-never-remember-if-he-is-Andy-or-Robert-I-think-it's-Andy (emmerdale) No.1 was absolutely amazing when he first came into it. no one else compares. |

No doubt about it, Chesney is just fantastic! He's got such talent, and can act out any type of emotion really well! He's like Natalie Cassidy as Sonia was when she was younger!

My mum and sister were trying to work out if he was the blonde kid in the Worthers Originals advert? Anyone know? Quote:

Isn't that due to the part tho. Surely he has to pretend to be related to Andy, and that is the most important family trait ![]() |

The lad who played Anthony Murray in Brookside was great throughout all the bullying stuff.

I think the boy who plays Max Sutherland in H&A is a very good actor.
His peformances with Colleen are totally believeable and at times very touching. |

Chesney is wonderful and so is the little lad who plays Tom in Hollyoaks. David Platt is good, but the fact he has a different accent to the rest of the family really annoys me.
