Bionic headed for substandard sales?

The looks of things Xtina is well struggling atm. NMT has done nothing around the world tbh . It's a shame that she is better vocally than Britney, but all Britney has to do to get top 10 everywhere is fart. She doesn't even need to promote.

Anyway back to Xtina, has she got any gems lined up I wonder...she's gonna need some. I hope the song with Nicki Minaj () grows on me, but I couldn't see it being a big success outside the US if they indeed release.

Dirrty might have bombed in the US but, it did well pretty much everywhere else, NMT has done poorly everywhere...even Oprah couldn't save it! She needs a new 'beautiful' or something slow to showcase her vocals, so she gets a stellar if not spectacular hit!

Whats the point of your thread anyway? Why does Britney need to be involved? God all you Xtina fans moan moan moan when anyone mentions anyone else, but it's fine for you all too?

Apart from that, I really like Woohoo actually, and I'm sure Christina will do well in the charts, regardless of how NMT done, which I loved as well.

I would have disagreed last month, as I thought it was going to be an "epic" album but after hearing the clips of all the songs, and seeing her success at the moment, she is going to have to seriously work to have success! Although, I imagine it will do well over here as she is set to do some interviews in the next few weeks and, in the UK, songs fly up the charts when there promoted. But in the US, she has to do as many award shows as possible and release some ballads!

All Christina ever has to do is release a ballad and her sales flood in. Lucklily she has several on this album. I Am is beautiful while You Lost Me is rather chilling. So I'm sure she will be fine. Although having now heard the album samples I'm surprised she released Not Myself Tonight over Glam which was the plan. Glam is far stronger (gay anthem X10). So really she only has herself to blame for picking the weakest song on the album as the lead single. Also the huge gaps inbetween albums haven't done her any favours what so ever.

Of course some of the Gaga and Britney fans are wetting themselves with excitement at the thought of her failing but desperately trying (but failing) to make out they are concerned fans..

Bionic will reach top 3 in the UK album charts, if not top spot (depending on releases that week).

There's simply no doubt.

Actually really Not Myself Tonight did OK in the UK given the complete lack of exposer and like zero airplay. It stayed static in the itunes top 10 for 3 days solid. If she had some real UK promo at that point she would have easily gone to number 1. The reality was many had no idea and probably still don't know she had a single out. But it is still a very weak comeback single.

If your referring to me, then that is so far from the truth, like Christina said, there is room for both artists on our ipods! And I know I will be buying bionic despite not being totally enamoured with the clips Ive heard but its one of those albums that I can tell will be remembered no matter what I think of the songs so its good to own a piece of pop history! And Im not pretending to be a fan, I like some of Christina's music but thats as far as it goes! I hope that cleared up your snide comment

Well said! But I think he/she? not sure, is talking about me!
Can't be bothered with sh*t anyway, cos I'll get banned for having an opinion which some people don't like. Oh, sorry, 'trolling' !

her PR just seems out of wack, the whole lady gaga thing has not helped either, i think lady gaga might have killed her career.

when i first heard the samples i was really excited but after a few listens i realised it wasnt all that. the whole electropop thing doesnt seem to have happened infact it seems the album was changed (maybe last minute because of the gaga rise?) and instead the electro stuff has been replaced with some terrible songs where she tries to rap. the balads are perfect and on the money but the rest apart from elastic love and birds of pray are shit.

sorry. im an honest stan. the balads are the only selling point of the album. maybe this album needs to underperform to teach her a lession in both taking too long and thinking you are better at reinvention than you actually are. both of which apply to xtina

well no. im a fan but she takes too long so people forget her and b) she does believe she is better than she is. not voice wise, she is the best singer of this generation, but she is no musical genius when it comes to production. she seems to think she is.

i think a flop album might make her go back and play to her roots. so the next album can be power balad heavy and see her swoop the board at the grammies again. her best interests are in my heart. thats being a fan.

Only other major album release is Iyaz, I can see him being more of a singles act imo, so Xtina could well get number 1 B.o.B. out the week before, but if he does get number 1 album (doubt it) he won't keep Xtina off.

BIONIC is going to be HUUUGE!! she has so many promo's to do stateside and she's going to be here in the UK from June 4th to promote the album on Jonathan Ross, i hope she does more here! the album is destined for the top spot with no real competition for that week! just everyone NEEDS to know about it!! it's just sounding so incredible right now!!

I'm pretty sure the album will go to number 1 but not so sure how well it will sell after that.

Dirrty didn't even do well in America, I think they prefer the ballad Christina over there whereas we like it all, so give her a chance to release a second single from Bionic first and see it do a Stripped in the US.

But judging the way album sales have been this year it'll probably spend less than 5 weeks in the album chart

Well that depends to be honest.

She will have a fan base that will guarantee a strong start.

However if her management deal with singles and promo the way they have then there is no doubt it will be a short stay in the top ten unfortunately.

If she has 4/5 well chosen singles mixed with television appearances and performances at music awards etc then the stay will be longer. If there are strong singles such as "fighter", and "beautiful" then album interest will be renewed.

If she does what she's doing in the states and that is releasing singles like candy and zero promotion (Not Myself Tonight. . . .followed a few weeks later with WooHoo) then the album will be devalued and it will do nothing for her sales.

She needs old school releases.

Single. . .promotion. . .few months. . .single announcements. . .video release. . .single release. . .etc.

Her management are doing things arse-about-face and oppositely to what they did with Stripped and she is paying the price.
