Devastating. Just filtered through to me via Facebook, but it was announced about 30 Minutes ago.

Utterly gob-smacked.

RIP "The Pig." \m/

Was never a huge Slipknot fan, but their last album was a pretty fine effort, a much more mature sound than their earlier work.

It's always sad to hear of a death, especially when it's someone so young. Yet another talented musician lost to drugs as well

Can't quite believe this. Was there in '99, the first UK show, seen them 9 times. Gutted.

R.I.P. Paul. My heart goes out to his friends and family.

Sad news, used to be a big fan of Slipknot. Saw them when they came to Glasgow in 2002.

R.I.P. Paul.

Only just read this and I am shocked... he will very much be missed not just by us maggots but by all in Slipknot, is it right Paul and his wife were expecting their first child?

It's interesting that DS had a story on this almost immediately, but it took them days to write about Dio.

Anyhoo, saw Slipknot at Hammersmith in December 08, best gig I've ever been to (and I've been to a lot). I hope this tragic loss doesn't stop the band from continuing.

I'm in utter shock right now. Paul seemed so happy with Brenna, and they had a baby on the way too. This is just unbelievably sad. My thoughts go out to Paul's family and Slipknot.

I just saw this headline and was completely shocked. He seemed such a nice and down-to-earth guy.

Loved Slipknot since their first album.
RIP Paul
I feel sad for the other guys in Slipknot aswell.

There's a pretty decent rock band up there in rock heaven, now, isn't there.

And Brittany Murphy is dancing along to it. A real, real shame.

I was in complete shock this morning when I read that. I got into Slipknot last year and they've truly made an impact on me. I feel so bad for Brenna and his bandmates. I really do hope that they continue, Corey has said in the past the band would probably break up if a member was to leave. I'm sure his child will be a very, very proud kid.

RIP #2

I'd completely forgot that his Girlfriend was pregnant.

That just makes it more tragic.
