ITV Teletext p 315 has a story on the new house. It's smaller, as we have already read, and is described as a "claustrophobic and ugly space ... with stark lighting and ugly decorations, and lurid green walls."

They're going to be in my house?

There was a story and a picture in y local paper ealier tonight, I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned here earlier. Have Channel 4 got a press section on their website.

Anyway, this is what my paper said:

"The 12 inmates will find their new home has been shrunk into a clastrophobic and ugly space when they arrive on Friday.

The first pictures of the house, released today, show the walls have been painted a lurid green to make the atmosphere even more intense than previous years. The stylish interiors of the past have been replaced with a beige carpet, stark lighting and ugly decorations. Designer Markus Blee... was told to create "evil" for the inmates.

The walls have been painted with what looks like a series of sixth-form art projects. Dozens of casts of green hands are fixed to one wall, while another conjures up images of an unpleasant alien planet. The space is so small that designers had to create a table which can be folded up and pushed away.

Exacutive producer Shirley Jones said: "This year we want to challenge the housemates' preconceptions. We especially designed the house to make it difficult for people."
