Yes I know you may call me sad but tonight is the first semi final of this years contest in preparation for the big night on Saturday.

So many people mock it but it gets huge ratings and in my opinion it's just good fun.

Anyway best of luck to Josh

Yeah I agree, I know it's a bit of a farce as a competition but it's good entertainment and I enjoy watching it. Shame our entry has an abysmal song though

Have you watched any of the rehearsals? The whole staging of the song is actually very good and has some great use of props. Add to the fact that josh is a great singer I think we may do better than expected

No I haven't seen it, personally. It really had better be some stunning staging and some equally amazing props. Only a visual spectacle to rival the opening of the Beijing Olympics can possibly help such a dismal song gain points. I actually feel a bit sorry for Josh as he's not the worst singer in the world..but the song is truly dire.

lol
I got appallingly addicted to Germany's song when I was over there...how embarrassing
she has the weirdest voice and apparently she thinks her accent in English is perfect...she's been trying to do some whole Kate Nash effect
oh well still a cute pop song

I've already downloaded the album, it's the 8th consecutive Eurovision album to be added my music collection. I find the German singer's accent very interesting.

I think the Russian entry is strange but good. It reminds me of Lonely this Christmas by Mud. The Danish entry reminds me of Simply the Best.

Norway's song is the best this year imo. They deserve to win. I'm tipping Azerbaijan to win though. It's as good as last year's Icelandic entry. Macedonia also has a chance.

The best song not in English is the Slovak entry. It's catchy and the singer can sing. The French entry is entertaining.

I'm disappointed with Bosnia and Herzegovina. This year's entry is the worst from there for some time. I liked last year's entry and the 2006 entry.

Our entry is rubbish, but the worst entry this year is Israel's. I hope they don't qualify.

I always enjoy eurovision, tonights semi final is definitly the weaker of the two semi;s but enjoyable all the same. Come on IRELAND this year, great song by a great singer.

Less than 25 mins to go. I can't wait.

The Irish entry is not very 2010 imo. It has a good ending though and deserved to win the contest they had there.

There are some good songs in tonight's semi-final (including Macedonia, Russia, Slovakia, Portugal and Malta), and I think it is the stronger of the two.

Maltas entry is good, would not be surprised if they win the whole thing.
