STV does cover most of Scotland on satellite. All customers whould get a version of STV on 103 in Scotland. The only versin of STV not on satellite is STV North (Tayside) - the Dundee version.

SD versions for Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh are catered for. The +1 is Edinburgh, and the HD version until today was the Glasgow one.

I did notice the other day however that the "HD" part of the logo had gone from the logo prior to programmes starting. It used to be a simulcast of STV West in SD with a different caption during introductions.

However, Alibi is now on 10.936 V so either STV has been taken off in HD perminently or it will eventually move somewhere else.

There will be some maintenance work completed over the next coming week which will result in the loss of transmission of STV HD, this will be reinstated once the work is completed.

This was sent to me by my mate who works for Sky. Hopefully this work is all to do with getting a proper listing on the EPG.

received reply

“Thanks for your note.

The disappearance of STV's HD signal on Sky is temporary, due to engineering work, and we expect it to be reinstated next week.

We are working towards the service being available on the EPG and will make an announcement in due course.

Kind regards”

Don't you think STV are getting better ?. At least we seem to be getting more and more of the programs that are showing on ITV1.

Question is how early?
They must have noticed a dip in viewing figures via satellite with them not being on it!
It has never made sense to me why they're not on!!

seeing as you're posting this strange quote again, i'll post my response again

i can assure you it is already on the "platform", it's just not on the EPG yet, and it will be added to the EPG on both Freesat and Sky soon. "early 2013" was the initial timeframe which for me i would take as anything up to the middle of 2013.

It has nothing to do with just Sky.
the STV HD (and UTV HD) launch is for DSAT, which included Freesat as well.

Sky won't (or can't) confirm or announce anything until STV and UTV are ready to do so.

STV/UTV won't (or can't) publicly announce anything until they are ready to do so.

However, I can assure you that it will be launched on DSAT.

I've had various email correspondance back and forth with the CEO of STV and it will be launched.

i can guarantee that you will never see it, seeing as you are not in the catchment area for it.

I'm not in the catchment area either but I can see it as I tuned it manually on my Sky boxes before they changed the parameters.

With an appropriate receiver anyone can tune it in, catchment area or not - even Dansky!

Dansky+HD doesn't have an appropriate tuner though, which is why i said it.

it was also a dig at his constant posts about a sense of entitlement that he should be able to see every regional HD variant on the EPG.
