Over The Rainbow winner Danielle Hope has been offered a free trip to Kansas to train for her role in The Wizard of Oz.

The Manchester singer triumphed last weekend on the Andrew Lloyd Webber talent show, beating Lauren Samuels and Sophie Evans to the West End prize.

Ticket sales for the new Wizard Of Oz production have soared 300% since Hope was revealed as the winner on Saturday night, confirmed lastminute.com.

As a reward, the website has promised a free holiday to America for the 18-year-old so that she can visit the setting of the original Judy Garland film.

"It seems people who have followed Danielle on her journey now want to see her take the spotlight on the big stage," said lastminute.com head of lifestyle Mark Bower.

"Danielle's success has been a real boost for lastminute.com, and to show our appreciation, we're offering her a trip to Kansas so she doesn't have to click her heels on this occasion."

As I've said on Danielle's appreciate thread, I've been to Kansas and I'm not really sure if that's much of a prize.

I'm sure there must be fun stuff to do in Kansas, but it's a very boring state to drive through. It's nothing but flat prairie and cornfields as far as the eye can see for about five or six hours on the highway. If Danielle does go to Kansas, I hope she manages to have a lot more fun than I did when I was there.

Well, if you like corn feilds, I guess you're bound to have lots of fun.
But I think she'd prefer Newyork.

I'm sure she would much rather visit Broadway in NY and take in one or two Broadway shows. Anyway the Wizard was filmed in the MGM studios in California.

If her Twitter is real I think she's already been to NYC

Don't know Kansas but if it Is dull, that's probably why Dorothy had such a great, escapist imagination.

I think it's a nice gesture, good PR and a free holiday.
