Spoiler
The Van Gogh episode itself doesn't sound like a barrel of laughs; it's says in the new DWM they don't shy away from the mental illness aspects of it all.

true yeah its been described as a weepy...and I am so glad that they won't hide away from the Mental Health issues either!!

But what I mean is
Spoiler

but yes it will be more obvious when the episodes airs

Oh I agree but I am also thinking in terms of the emotional content, and her words that she said to the Doctor which were then followed by her actions....

but like I said, it probably make more sense when we see the story...

In the preview for next weeks episodes The Doctor says that this moment in time is not fixed so it can be changed so this may alter there future resulting them in not waving to themselves.
Ah. A timey-wimey thing then. You'd think he'd learnt his lesson from the Timelord Victorious incident....! Ho hum.

It appears he has - Waters of Mars was all about him deciding what can be changed and what can't, if he's accepting that it's not his decision and that this is one that can be then that's a step forward.

I'm curious to know how he knows which can be changed & which can't. Since the doctor goes into unfamiliar situations, how can he know what the outcome should be, fixed or otherwise? Perhaps he allows for "seasonal adjustment"

You could picture like having an added sense that would let you see ultraviolet (Cataract operations could do that to you). You just see more than anyone else

I can only hope the Doc uses it to detect certain gasses in the praxis range range of the spectrum.
