Den of the Geek preview (spoiler free):
http://www.denofgeek.com/television/...ee_review.html I get the impression they prefer this to the first half - they were a bit luke-warm when talking about the last episode, iirc. |

5.9: Cold Blood - DWO (Spoiler-Free) Preview
News Dated: 27/5/2010 Below is the DWO (Spoiler-Free) Preview for 5.9: Cold Blood: Having left Amy Pond about to be imminently dissected, and The Doctor standing on the precipice of a Silurian Empire, this week's episode was set to be full of promise. Thankfully it lived up to expectations, and turned out to be a rollercoaster ride of action, action and...yep, you've guessed it...action! The Human and Silurian races are once again given the same decision to co-habit Earth as they were in the 3rd Doctor adventure; The Silurians. Whether they can take the step is something that lies at the heart of the story, and as with its predecessor, there are forces on both sides that are keen to see things succeed and fail. Cold Blood is a story that lives up to its title in more ways than one. At times it is predictable, but don't let this fool you into a false sense of security of thinking you know where it will end up. For there are things at work in this episode that will surely come into play in the adventures to come, and a couple of particularly important events that will have you shouting at the screen in disbelief! There are some truly breathtaking sets and special effects littered throughout the episode, that help build depth and believability to the underground world. You can't help thinking how far the show has come over the years, and just how different it is to anything else the BBC currently has to offer. It's hard to find fault with Cold Blood, but there's a narrative in parts of the story, however, that feels a little unnecessary, and sets it at odds with the fluidity of The Hungry Earth. Like previous episodes, there are some great one-liners here. One in particular that springs to mind is: "We're not monsters, and neither are they" - It's up to you to guess which race utters those words... The last five minutes feel a little rushed but the content of those said minutes are a little jaw-dropping to say the least. 5 Things to look out for... - A Red Handkerchief. - Lots of running down alien corridors. - The crack is back! - ____ still _____ in your mind. - Something important that Amy must remember. |

Sounds like Rory is gonna die
![]() Just wouldn't make any sense at all. And he is in another episode later. I like him very much and makes a very good companion. |

That would be silly, in my opinion, after nearly dying last time and Amy discovered she loved him and wanted to be with him.
Just wouldn't make any sense at all. Speculation

It would in the sense it would make his death more tragic once Amy realised her true feelings. Amy's Choice is a forerunner for what is going to happen in reality

I'd say there would be a bitter sort of irony about it, wouldn't there? The only thing worse than not knowing what you've got till it's gone would be to finally realise you have something special only to lose it in the next breathe.I could see that being incredibly poignant and haunting if played right.

but it seems that even though "Rory" is in the finale it ISN'T Rory as we have have known him this series physically. Again according to the spoiler hounds. The crack doesn't heal him...
