Doh. I wonder if this is sales related? I think she was away for too long to expect to announce and sell out a tour instantly...though im not familiar with the ticket sales tbh.

this reminds me of in 1989 when madonna was going to tour with the Like A Prayer Tour in late 1989, BUT filmed Dick Tracey and forgot she had to promotethat so the plans werepushedback to what became The Blond Ambition World Tour!
i think it will be better ifit's next year asit seemed a bit rushed to havethetour RIGHT after her album is released, she needs to do smaller promo tours worldwide to get people afeel and vibe of thedirection the tour is going to go in! and also will have a few more singles by then (i am hoping 4 by the end of the year! NMT,Woohoo,I Am,Lift Me Up and Glam!) and also QUALITY video's C: |

its a bit weird for someone to tour after one year after the album isnt it? i mean i swear most acts tour after 3-5 months after the album release.
it could be to do with the sales i mean sure she has alot to do this year but she could still tour and promote. |

I think what has happened is that Not Myself Tonight flopped mainly off the back she has been away for 4 years straight. The Gaga thing has damaged her and the interest in the album isn't there. Again because it took too long.
So launching straight into a tour was total madness. Her whole team need to be sacked. Although saying that. People on the XTina boards seem to think the tour was selling well and two arenas had sold out. So she has just cost herself more money by delaying it. I think lessions need to be learned from this whole episode. The next album has to come in 2012. Christina cannot risk taking huge breaks anymore. There was a time when she could have owned the pop scene. She let it slip through her hands by being lazy. |

I think she did this during the Stripped era as well. For an artist with only 3 solid albums, shes not in the position of benig able to take giant breaks.

I agree i think the whole GaGa comparisons havent helped tbh i mean its ALL GaGa atm ad tbh GaGa is doing a great job i mean i do like christina but not really a massive fan of Bionic but i have only made myself listen to a 4 songs so i will wait till the albums out to fully judge it.
i think waiting a whole year for a tour is stupid move aswell especially for someone whos been away for a long time, you need to tour while your albums still fresh i mean by a year Bionic could go stale. |

Madonna is Madonna though. She could tour without releasing an album and it would still sell out.
![]() i think though when Christina is going to go on tour next year she will have enough material from her album that thousands will know which will also help in sales of tickets too! and by then Burlesque would have been out and she may even perform some material from that soundtrack album too ![]() similar to what Madonna did with her Blonde Ambition Tour where she promoted Like A Prayer and performed a segment dedicated to Dick Tracey from the I'm Breathless album to coincide with her tour! because of the tour Like A Prayer achieved 20 million copies sold worldwide and the I'm Breathless album got about 8 million in sales and then shortly after the tour The Immaculate Collection sold almost 40 million!! all sales unheard of today but still achieveable. when Christina promotes with a shorter promo tour and releases as much material as she can she will garner fantastic album sales across the globe for Bionic, then later in the year when the soundtrack is released for Burlesque i would imagine a song may be released for promotion of it to help the soundtrack to sell well as well as help with the films box office! everything should still be able to work out i am sure, because Bionic will be a significant album and will reach great sales, i think Christina wants to make this era very memorable and iconic as she can so by having album promo high this year and a single or two and a tour worldwide next year she can achieve anything!!! and during this time she would have performed on MTV Music awards in the September and i imagine any Autum/Fall period awards shows, then an anticipated performance on The X Factor for sure! and the following year the inevitable Grammy performance and hopefully she will make a Brit awards show performance too before or during the tour kicking off in 2011! hopefully by this time Bioniv would be achieving fast sales in the double digits in millions worldwide! she can do it, it's just the way it is all arranged and marketed which will say how successful it will be! |

Everyone is criticising her for taking a break, yet fail to realise that she was actually pregnant on the last tour she did, and has obviously taken time off to be with her family, as well as to actually give birth!
Having attended the last tour here in the UK, I find it very hard to believe that the shows weren't selling well, because she does put on a very good show. (And that's coming from a Metal-head! )However, having said that, the UK audience is a lot more appreciative of this sort of thing compared to the Yanks, and I think Christina would be welcomed with open arms here and in Europe. The problem is that America is so obsessed with Gaga and Bieber right now, that Aguilera may have just fallen off the radar. It would have made more sense to tour Europe and Australia, THEN move over to the States as the show gets its reviews. I wouldn't mind, but it is Aguilera, along with Madonna and Marilyn Monroe that has paved the way for Gaga to be so successful right now. And, in my opinion, Gaga isn't even that talented. It's a gimmick with a computerised vocals on a CD. Aguilera has an excellent voice, and even though she has had endless gimmicks herself, she has proven that her voice is untouchable. |

Reeeeeeeeally dont get the comparison there. How did Aguilera pave the way? Shes from the same lines as Britney, albeit with a bit more talent. Shes never broken any barriers or done anything all that outstanding...?
![]() Xtina-STRIPPED! Gaga is in her phase of it right now, but Christina got stick for it because it was such a majorly different look from her debut and it also added more attention to the pop market than the hip-hop one! both Britney and Christina were part of such a major take over on MTV airwaves and basically took the world on with their albums. Britney has solld 100 million recordes and Christina has so far shipped 48 million with her three albums which with Bionic on the way will just grow!! Marylin and Madonna are the iconic figures that paved the way really. Madonna who is an idol of mine was influenced by Monroe as well as Blondie's Debbie Harry,Nancy Sinatra and surrealist art as well as her own catholic upbringing, and she's still at the top of her game today!!! The Queen Of Pop! Britney and Christina are IMO The Princesses, they're so brilliant at what they do and are so engaging and so so beautiful!! whenever they release material i always get excited. Gaga's got nothing on them!! why are the US so obsessed now its annoying

Not surprised one bit. It was just a matter of time. I always tell people that in order for a mainstream pop artist to sell out large venues you need hype, buzz, and most importantly a string of hits right before and during the tour to bring in casual music fans. There are very few mainstream pop acts that can carry a large venue tour without a string of hits to support it. Madonna comes to mind immediately. The tour was canceled...I mean postponed due to lack of sales, no doubt about that. This happens all the time, I remember when Kelly Clarkson had to scrape most of her tour due to My December being poorly received. I also think the prices she was charging for this tour were outrageous. I was thinking about seeing her mostly due to Leona being the support act but had to pass due to ridiculous prices. |

Hate Gaga but shes 1000 times better than Britney will ever be. Ive never understood the love for her.
she's a great mother and shes now in control of her business and her enxt album sounds like it's going to be very huge and experimental too! she defined a generation and is a great showwoman too, even though her Circus tour did have a backing track her presence and charisma and showmanship really showed through. Britney is my preference over Gaga because britney is so entertaining and real to the world, people dismiss her as a wannabe an a whorish person but i think that these criticisms are just so harsh on the woman! plus she has an amazing back catalogue already. sure it aint MJ's or Madonna's but Brit has Baby one More Time,Sometimes,You Drive Me Crazy!,Oops I Did It Again,Stronger,Lucky,Slave 4 U,Overprotected,I'm Not A Girl Not Yet A Woman,ME Against The Music,Toxic,Everytime,Gimme More,Piece Of Me,Womanizer and Circus! now that is pretty heavy for pop! and are mega hits!! plus she has a sweet voice i want her to use more in the future, she needs to adapt her voice more she can do it as i have witnessed on an acoustic set she has performed for MTV and on Oprah! she is gifted

Britney had Baby One More Time,Oops,Britney and In The Zone and later Blackout which are amazing pop albums and just rejuvinated the industry (plus Gaga ripped off the sounds off of Blackout i found!)

First it was, I like her a lot, then, She's so annoying and has no variety and now its, Oh she copies people and I dont why people like her! Slightly suspicious! |

And its hardly fair to say she has nothing on them, when Britney cant sing and Gaga has an amazing voice,
A lot of 'pop' artists are massively manipulated in the recording studio by equipment now available to alter people's voices. Gaga is JUST AS GUILTY as anyone else. Christina has an amazing voice. Beyoncé has an amazing voice. Michael Jackson had an amazing voice. Gaga's is alright, in comparison. |

Just wow, Blackout literally sounds nothing like Gaga at all! And you'll actually find that the Uk is more obsessed with Gaga than the US, considering she has had more success over here and she is a bigger trending topic over here! And its hardly fair to say she has nothing on them, when Britney cant sing and Gaga has an amazing voice, maybe not as strong as Xtina but I'd still rate just as highly! And its possibly because she lives her art, she takes it home with her, she doesnt leave it on stage like many other artists and that endears her to people and of course her amazing performances (her monster ball was the best tour Ive ever seen, and Ive seen plenty including Circus and Confessions)!
You seem to have changed your opinion of Gaga very quickly in three days! First it was, I like her a lot, then, She's so annoying and has no variety and now its, Oh she copies people and I dont why people like her! Slightly suspicious! and Circus alone beats Fame Ball or whatever Monster Ball she's on now LOL. Confessions is a whole other league, plus i love it when the crowd just screams out the lines with hands up in the air, it's a powerful moment at every Madonna concert, and Confessions looks so amazing and wish i went to it, lucky enough i saved up for Sticky & Sweet which also beats gaga and the like down!! i mean she cannot compare, it would annoy me really with so many costume changes really, but Madonna has her segments and each one represents a different area of the show which i love! plus she made some fantastic statements with her Confessions tour from beginning to end!! and of course you like Monster Ball...LOOK AT YOUR NAME!! gagalove! so you would evidently have bias there, i try so hard but cannot bring myself to it! i know what i like. besides Rihannas last Girl On Earth Tour is sensational!! and am saving to see Christina when she tours, Britney when she's back and of course Madge on her next world tour breaking them records!! ![]() and dont criticise Britney, she's above it anyway and has 6 multimillion selling albums! gaga wont ever be in that standard i'm afraid and that's a fact in this day and age! and Britney has an angelic voice when she performs live! it's easier for Gaga as her routines are relatively basic in comparison really! |

Being manipulated in the recording studio is fine but its live performances that make the difference and Gaga has more than proved she has An Amazing voice!!!! Her live Lounge performance proves this! |

Christina Aguilera cancels summer tour! (Merged)
Christina Aguilera has cancelled her summer tour amid reports of poor ticket sales.
The 20-date tour, which had been due to start in July, has now been postponed to next year because Aguilera 'needed more time to rehearse' due to prior commitments to her new album and film debut, according to a statement released today. However, there has been speculation that the disappointing response to Aguilera's new album and poor sales of concert tickets are the real reason for the cancellation. The statement from concert promoters Live Nation read: 'Christina Aguilera's summer tour has been moved to 2011 due to prior commitments that the singer had made to her film, Burlesque, and to the promotion of her new album, Bionic Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...#ixzz0oyT7TCEm I kind of feel sorry for her. I dont think Lady GaGa has helped. |

Its not because tickets werent selling. Its probably because they are worried the album won't sell. |
