It was good, I liked the dodgy wheeler-dealer Garron and his mate

I'm just hoping that the point behind the Guardians and the Key etc becomes clearer as I work through the series *dumb shamed*

I could answer that but don't want to spoil it for you. Please come back when you've finished the series then we can discuss what you thought of it then.

Ok then, will do, am looking forward to the Pirate Planet anyway. Have very, very vague memories of the Captain but no recollection at all of the Key and the Guardian, went straight over my head as a kid.

Started with Revenge Of The Cybermen, gave up mid episode 2. Never a fan of the alien civilisations, cod Shakespeare episodes, they had been done to death to the extent where it didn't matter really what or who the civilisation was they were all interchangeable from one episode to the next. On par with the dullness of the two warring fractions scenario that had also been done to death.

Put on Silver Nemesis, gave up mid episode 2, horrendous horrendous guff on par with amateur fan work, although the little scene of The Doctor and Ace walking through a field randomly whistling was extremely charming, beyond that a stark reminder why I stopped watching the show back then.

Roll on Seeds Of Doom as I cant remember when the last really good release was?

Sounds like you've wasted your money! Had you never seen these before or were you hoping they would be better than you remembered? What about the Extras - did you watch them?

Not really a waste of money, I will no doubt complete them somewhere along the line, as I also need to many of the previous releases lately, still haven't got beyond episode one of The Dominators. The War Machines was the last release I watched all the way through after purchase.

Unfortunately in order to add to the Tom Baker collection (good and bad episodes) Silver Nemesis was part of the boxset otherwise I just would have purchased Revenge OF The Cybermen and avoided the Mcoy years

I've seen the excellent extra about fandom and the old VHS releases, that was really interesting.

The Vogans are awful, aren't they? Cramped shootouts in tiny little spaces between two rubbish, semi-identical looking sets of aliens. Dreadful.

Mrs Chuff and I finished The Ambassadors of Death last night. A class act.

Just watched "The Invasion" for the first time...absolutely brilliant. Never realised that was the basis for the new RTD cyber voices!

Although, I did think the voice the kept saying the Doctor "...must be deestroooyyyyyed" was a bit cheesy!

Edit, I've watched them before but that was 35 years ago and I don't remember them ”

I'm running out. Since this post I've watched the above, been back to the UK and picked up another rather large batch, but probably only have 2 weeks supply left. (currently on Brain of Morbius)

Time to take advantage of the very strong Swiss Franc and very weak Pound, take the 14 month old to see his grandparents and pick up another batch.

(And I hate going through Swiss Customs with all these DVDs)
