Off course! Midnight is one of my fave adventures from the new series. Yes, it worked well because there was a point where you knew something was there but where it was was the unsettling part.

Yes, a different kind of adversary that would have exactly the same effect. I have watched the SJA adventures, not sure which episode you are referring to, but that's just my erratic memory playing up again!

A good story even if the monoids are a touch daft!
One other story which sort of involves a hidden menace to a
degree is Planet Of Evil. You know, when Sarah Jane's fingers stiffen and you hear crackling before the anti-matter monster appears. I imagine watching that as a kid would've have been quite an ordeal(Not that I was old enough to watch it!)
