Uncut Webstream!!!

Now the webstream is going to be not as heavily edited as E4 like last year - who is going to be getting it. I certainly am, Im looking foward to live streaming in the day now!

It depends on the quality and what people on here are saying about it. I'm considering it...

I have no E4 this year so the web stream is looking unusually tempting.

Could someone who knows clear something up for me - is there any way to subscribe to the BB live feeds without any of your money going to RealNetworks? I like to try and avoid funding them wherever possible..

I don't think so.

You will need to sign up to either 4Broadband (£4.99 per month) or Real Superpass (14 day free trial - then £11.99 per month)

Im going to get it to escape most of the sound cuts during the day. I am assuming it will be still be cut for libellous things.

Most the time on E4 and via Sky interactive it is 24/7 , however it is heavily edited during the day to cut out the swearing with bird noises etc.

Think I will save my realpass free trial for the last two weeks of BB5!

Can you get the feeds on Channel4 on Sky Digital via the red button or is it only on E4 interactive?

No it will only be available via E4.

Hopefully the screens via interactive will be fullscreen this year not 1/4 screen again.

C4 may have a news + Voting service.

Thanks Jim, Only have an FTV card for CH4 and E4 is not interactive on my Irish Sky Sub.Looks like Real might end up making some money from me afterall!

Someone I know subscribed to the 4Broadband service last year, they said it was very easy to stop

They need to learn from the Back to Reality web feed.
That was the best feed Ive ever seen and Im on dial up.
If the BB team did something similar it would be great.
I just wish NTL would pull their fingers out and get a live feed this year.

That was great, especially when the nominations were being announced & E4 cut to adverts just as the names were about to be read out.

I wouldn't pay for the live feed since I have E4 so fingers crossed they do the same for us this year.

Oh is it only 4.99 a month? Gotta be worth it at that price. I'll go for it for less cuts and no adverts. besides it's hard getting control of Sky in this house !

Does anyone know if you'd be able to use the cut-down version of RealPlayer the BBC provides instead of the bloated one?
Or indeed does it have to be Realplayer I use Jet Audio for all my Realplayer files and would rather not have to use it if I don't have to.
If it's not going to be edited then I think it'd be worth the money easy.

i think that its only the swearing thats going to be shown (presume that when you pay you prove your > 18?), any liable comments etc will still be edited.

£4.99 for swearing? be cheaper to buy a chubby brown video of ebay

Hate to burst your bubble, but they're the same version. No difference between the BBC version and the Real version.

Try Real Alternative and Media Player Classic, does all of the Real stuff very well.

I'm not going to bother this year. Although I have broadband (and did last year), this year I have Sky and will watch the E4 streaming when at home. Doesn't really matter whether I watch live streaming on my PC or TV, both are subject to sound-cuts/sound-dips. Will have to live with it, and ignore the teeny-texty-ticker!

Katie.
