Nay, nay, nay.

When I first saw someone wearing them I thought they were cute.
After a while I discovered that every other person was wearing them, that's enough for me to say NAY.

I think they are absolutely disgusting.

They are probably the ultimate deal-breaker for me; if I saw a cute guy then looked down at his feet to see him wearing Crocs, it'd be over before it started.

Ugh, ugh, ugh.

I once bought a pair of tortoise skin shoes.

It took me three hours to walk out of the shop.

Since we're going down that route so soon...

I went into a shoe shop and asked for a pair of Crocs in my size- I told the assistant to make it snappy.

I thought they were rather comfy... apart from the horrible lumps on the sole that made my feet totally numb. I don't know how anyone can wear them. Plus, I'm a size 12 so they looked utterly ridiculous.

Even if he was really handsome & really rich?

I was thinking about getting a pair. I don't have to worry about putting off potential B/f cos I have already got one.....

Yes, unequivocally yes.

Not that I ever fancied him in the first place but I saw a picture of Javier Bardem wearing a pair and he sank right down in my estimations. Any allure and mystqiue he may have just magically vanished.

When a man says he likes a woman who's a snappy dresser, I don't think he means that she wears Crocs.....

OK OK, I'll stop with the puns now....

NAY.

They're ugly, they look too clinical, I laugh and point at people in them. I thought these would have died a death by now but no, they are still around.

I don't see all the fuss surrounding their comfort, I tried a pair on for arguments sake, as I am an avid Croc hater and have had this argument many a time. They are not comfortable at all, they feel oversized, awkward and clown-like. I could imagine them to be very sweaty in the heat. I wouldn't even garden in them and I for sure will never put my children in them.

Hand me a nice pair of summer wedges instead...

They are brilliant if you have bad knees, ankles or back as proper crocs (not cheapo versions) make you walk correctly. They are also good for anyone with fungal foot problems as you can wash and bleach them clean daily.

For those of us who don't give a fig what anyone else thinks and like comfort they are wonderful.

Almost cured my Plantar Fasciitis !

Well, not so long ago I was waiting at the X-ray 'department' of the local hospital and I was watching all the nurses (male & female) trodding along in Crocs. None of them seemed to fit them properly and most of them seemed as if they were sliding out of their Crocs and walking half next to them.
The thing is with footwear, it might fit reasonably comfy when they are new, gradually the material stretches and you get your normal wear and tear, but you get so used to wearing bad shoes, you don't even notice that you're not walking properly anymore.

I doubt the nurses were wearing anything but the 'real' Crocs.

If you want to wear proper sandals, get Birkenstocks. A classic, made from natural materials.

Birkenstocks are comfortable, however they do take a while to 'break in' I must say. Not exactly "pretty" but passable to be able to wear without looking like a prat.

Weren't Crocs in the news a while back as a cause to many injuries? Personally I don't follow the hype about them being the magic cure for people who can't be bothered to wash, dry and moisturise their feet properly.

Ewww I never said they were the cure for dirty people - they are however helpful for people with fungal problems that can grow in sweaty unwashable shoes.

BTW they are supposed to be worn bigger by one or two sizes than your feet are, this is the correct way to wear them if you want the full benefit from their anatomical soles.

i cannot agree more! As a nurse. crocs are a life saver, well a foot saver and like you they have gone a long way to if not curing my plantar fasciitis they have certainly helped alleviate the worst of the symptoms.

Long live crocs!
