Or am I being too hopeful? His face hasn't been darkened out on the candidates page on the apprentice homepage!

I think he is!

Wikipedia have him down as being 'excused' and thus not returning.

What was wrong with him anyway and if they knew he wasn't well why did they put him in the kitchen spreading germs on cakes??

I think he's returning, the BBC's Junior Apprentice site hasn't got him blacked out.

Yes. I'd like to know what was wrong. He had obviously been ill for a few days as they were discussung his illness at the beginning of the task as though it had been ongoing, and he was still ill when they went into the boardroom.

I read it as he wasn't dealing with things mentally very well :/

I dont think they can have him back, it wouldnt be fair and I suspect Adam knew before filming that scene that he was going.

I don't understand why LA didn't ask him to go before the task instead of at the end of it. It's pretty obvious that they decided to wait it out until the boardroom to hype up the viewers into wondering how the unfair balance of the teams was going to pan out. If he was that ill, they should have just let him go, but then I guess they probably didn't know how to split the teams up beforehand with odd numbers and also incase the audience felt that the team with less numbers were at an unfair advantage. Whereas springing it on the viewers this way, they've no time to reflect.

Let's not let it turn into the US Celebrity version where they can come and go as they like. Ok he was Ill, but that shouldn't give him an advantage over the others, in this case it didn't but the principle is still the same.

Also don't forget 10 candidates, 6 episodes, so two people going in one episode is 'needed'. Unless there are pairs for the final of course.

Who would it be unfair on? His team won the task so he wasn't an option to be cut anyway. I could see it being unfair if he got a free pass for next week but all he really missed out on was a chat.

I took it that he was going home for good. He didnt get any leaving words, and wasnt "fired" thought so perhaps he is coming back. I wouldnt object to him coming back next week just because his team had won the task anyway, but anything after that wouldnt be right.

It was very obvious he knew that he was being sent home before the boardroom scene. I cant imagine him just taking it that well - surely he'd try to protest if he didnt already knew. I suspect it was more so Sir Alan could say something nice to him as he has been to those who are getting eliminated from this series.

If he is gone for good, i feel pretty bad for that Hibah girl who got fired by the tiniest of margins for a guy who then had to pull out anyway.

Theres 6 next week in the clip and Adam dos'nt show. So I would imagine he has gone for good. He was let go very lightly and politely.

So what was the point of saving him last week, if what LA was saying that he's been ill for a while now, presumably more than a week or so?

I never understood the hype about Adam.

Nice guy but he showed no real talent on any of the tasks.

No big loss.

This is supposed to be the UK's finest, brightest kids. I've seen more spark down the Barras from kids half their age.

It's when you make a post but it doesn't show up, and you have to post again to make it show. It's a bit annoying sometimes, lol.

I doubt he'll be back.

I'll put this in spoiler tags as to not ruin the 'magic' of the programme for those not in the know:

Spoiler
The series is actually filmed over several days rather than being the weekly event it is presented as. It's possible that Adam was ill for the rest of filming.

I agree, especially about Adam! He is not big loss, in fact he has been quite useless. He should have gone last week even though Hibya was out of order. This week Adam was more of an indurance than any help to Zoes team. He made a right mess of the cakes and took far too long. Zoes team could have sold more if they had been quicker making the cakes! I think that Zoe and Arjun done really well under the circumstances! Plus, think of all those germs on those cakes that were sold from Adam! Quite disgusting when you think about it!

In that case, he should still have gone before the boardroom showdown....and also before firing the last contestant in last week's show, and saving him IMHO.

Exactly, the last place you let a sick person work is a kitchen!

I think he's gone for good, Tim said back at the house towards the end, "there's six of us left now, & three tasks".

I think Lord Sugar didn't want to say to him "You're Fired!" though TBH, he was lucky not to go last week & was only kept in for being a geezer in the Sugar mould. If he got to come back it really would smack of unfair favouritism.

That makes no sense. He did the task and his team won. So all he missed was the boardroom which his team won. So how is that unfair favourtism?

You mean the prize.
Because I think he could have gone last week and Lord Sugar let him off. He was on a second chance this week.

But its not clear what was wrong. If he had anything even remotely infectious, he should have been nowhere near a kitchen - or his co-workers. There's soldiering on and there's spreading your germs to everyone. I don't know.

The bbc Junior Apprentice Website says:
(not a spoiler really, but just in case anyone doesn't want to know what the website says)

Spoiler
Week 3: Adam’s feeling unfocused
From the very start of the day Adam said he was feeling under the weather. He was very quiet during the team’s brainstorm session and struggled to keep up with the pace in the kitchen with Emma. Despite admitting he wasn’t feeling “fully focused”, Adam’s will to win got him through the day. After making the effort to finish the challenge for his team, the 17 year old was sent home to his parents to rest and recover.

Spoiler
So it looks like he MAY be back...
