I've enjoyed clicking on a few of the random links and heard a few great tracks which I downloaded.

Its a shame that there was much talent and great songs sung pre 1800's that never got recorded. There might welll have been some fantastic voices.

I'll go along with that. I've got it on a compilation album,Golden Hour Of Simon Says. There's several other tracks from Loving Spoonful on it along with 1910 Fruitgum Company (who had the hit with Simon Says),Ohio Express,The Lemon Pipers and others.

i chose the 60's because its my fav era and one that i am still discovering great tracks from.

i like traditional folk (pre 1800's), several groups/bands over the years have recorded versions of olde songs. the city waites and steeleye span for eg.

I agree with the sentiments about it being such a perfect pop song and also agree that it was an absolute tragedy that it was never a hit in the UK. I find it a sad indictment of the British record buying public of the day that such an excellent band (The Lovin' Spoonful) featuring such a brilliant songwriter (John Sebastian) only had two major UK hits ("Daydream" and "Summer In The City").

i like the loving spoonful, of course their 'biggy' 'summer in the city' is a 60's classic. one of the first 'summer' songs i remember.

You're right, they won't! They did play two days ago! Try again in a couple of hours. Failing that, anyone interested should check these tracks out independently, they're all great songs and definitely worth a listen!

indeed, classic mid 60's american music... keen on a good melody were the americans, from motown, beach boys, association etc etc.
