Vabosity's Fifth Anniversary Review Of The Thread - Post #3.
Four tracks originally submitted to the thread on pages 9 to 12 respectively.
The Grass Roots - Let's Live For Today (1967)
Genre: Pop Rock
Original thread page: 9
Date originally submitted: 24th June 2010.

Comments:
Oh, I do like this one. I like this one a great deal. The Grass Roots were yet another one of that plethora of good American sixties bands who failed to make any impact in the UK.
The Springfields - Silver Threads And Golden Needles (1962)
Genre: Country and Western
Original thread page: 10
Date originally submitted: 15th July 2010.
Original poster: Vabosity
Comments:
The Springfields were a popular trio consisting of Dusty Springfield (before she embarked on her momentous solo career), her brother, Tom Springfield (before he became an acclaimed songwriter) and Mike Hurst (before he discovered and produced Cat Stevens). Surprisingly, this fine cover of a song first recorded in 1956 by Wanda Jackson was not a hit in the Springfields’ native UK, but it did peak at #20 in the USA, the first ever single by a British group to reach the US top twenty.
The Syndicats - Crawdaddy Simone (1965)
Genre: Hard-driving British Rhythm ‘n’ Blues (aka Freakbeat)
Original thread page: 11
Date originally submitted: 20th July 2010.
Original poster: Randy Gibbons
Comments:
Produced by Joe Meek this is a great example of Freakbeat at its very best.
Sandy Denny - Who Knows Where The Time Goes (1967)
Genre: Acoustic Folk
Original thread page: 12
Date originally submitted: 29th July 2010.
Original poster: Disnae
Comments:
A very beautiful song written and recorded by the late, great Sandy Denny, imho one of the finest female artists this country has ever produced.
