First of all, the original version of a song that was a big hit for the Animals three years later. As much as I love the Animals version, imo it's not a patch on Sam's version.

Was listening to some early Rock N Roll today & clicked on Gabriel & The Angels , just because I liked the name, glad I did , they made some interesting records , the best one in my opinion is That's Life ( That's Tough ) which reached 51 in The US charts in 1962 .

I decided to this because I'd just about exhausted my supply of tracks that had not been on the thread before, but I genuinely love contributing to the thread, so doing a review of one year's worth of posting seemed a good way to continue contributing.

I've just found an old mix tape, with a lot of 60's songs. I've managed to identify most of them, but I'm still at a loss with these two. Apparently they were recorded from a 45 rpm single, and I suspect they are sung by the same female singer.

Dusty left the Lana Sisters shortly after recording the previous track and joined her brother, Tom, in another vocal trio, the Springfields. The group soon achieved a high degree of popularity and they frequently appeared on what were known at the time as "light entertainment" TV shows. Hardly any clips of the Springfields' TV appearances have survived, but here's one that has:-

I really like the Puppini Sisters, and actually know the uncle of one of them, but they are a 21st Century group who perform their music in the style of the 1940's, so what they've got to do with rare tracks from the sixties I really don't know - it's quite amazing how so many threads just seem to go off at tangents.
