BBC Radio Leeds do an eclectic 60s show with Diana Luke from 9pm to 1am on Saturday evenings. I am listening to it at present, at least between tracking down these songs on Youtube!

I always think of 'Needle In a Haystack' as one of the quintessential 'Songs of the Sixties'.........well of the 60s i remember anyway..........along with Jimmy Mack and Dancing in the Streets.

I'm surprised it wasn't a hit...........it was huge around the circles I moved in !

Come On by The Atlantics, fantastic Yardbirds-y type band from Australia.

Never heard this one before. I like it a lot. It must have been really frustrating back in 1963 for Helen Shapiro to be headlining a tour with the Beatles as a support act, only to find near the end of the tour that they had become the headliners and she the support act. I think this may have brought her pop career to a premature end, which is a pity, because she had a great voice.




I'm running out of ideas too, so the idea I've just had for this particular post may just be clutching at straws.
