There's no need to trawl through 83 pages, just use the Search this Thread facility.

I've Searched on Badfinger and the track has not previously been submitted to the thread.

Anyway as Rob said it doesn't matter whether or not the track is a repeat. The thread is nearly three and a half years old, and it's getting increasingly difficult to find tracks that are new to the thread, so repeats are fine now. All the tracks in my Third Anniversary Review are repeats!

However, Rob did also question whether Baby Blue was a sixties track, so I've checked that out, and discovered that it's from 1971, so it's not really eligible for this thread. I suggest you submit it to the Rare 70's Classics thread.

im not finding it hard now, by going through my record collector catalogue just look at the gems ive already discovered! theres enough material, most of it new, to keep this going for another 3 1/2 years at least!

i hope it re-kindles interest, or maybe i should have started a new thread for this project...

The Third Anniversary Review is of course deliberately full of repeats, but when I finish it (in November or December) I think I may struggle to contribute tracks that are new to the thread, so delighted that you've found a source that will keep the thread going almost indefinitely.

Incidentally, I'm liking what you've been posting. Those tracks may be very obscure indeed, but I haven't heard one yet that I haven't liked a great deal.

The Association - Pandora's Golden Heebie Jeebies (1966)
First submitted to the thread in August 2011.
As I mentioned Pandora’s Box of Delights in my opening comments this one seems like an appropriate track to include in the post. It’s one of my favourite tracks by the Association who, along with quite a few other fine American sixties bands, were criminally ignored in the UK.”

The Association were a superb American sixties band who, despite recording a plethora of excellent tracks, were criminally ignored in the UK. Several of those excellent Association tracks have been submitted to the thread, five of which can be found below.

The Association - Standing Still (1966)
First submitted to the thread in June 2010.
As you can see above I’ve already featured Pandora’s Golden Heebie Jeebies (a minor hit single in the USA for the Association) in a previous Third Anniversary Review post. This is the rather pleasant B-side of that marvellous track.

The Association - Cherish (1966)
First submitted to the thread in August 2010.
The band’s first chart-topping single in the USA. Naturally, it failed to chart in the UK.

The Association - Along Comes Mary (1966)
First submitted to the thread in August 2011.
The band’s first Top Ten hit single in the USA. Naturally, it failed to chart in the UK.

The Association - Windy (1967)
First submitted to the thread in August 2011.
The band’s second chart-topping single in the USA. Naturally, it failed to chart in the UK.

The Association - Like Always (1968)
First submitted to the thread in January 2012.
Completing my selection of wonderful ditties by the Association is this likeable album track.

I remember buying the album it came from, Straight Up, on the day of release. Got it on cd a few years back, and still play it regularly. Great album, but it was a 1972 release, not the 60s.

as promised, today we re-visit a 60's act that dispite having the sound, the look, and a number of releases failed to make it big... never scoring a top 40 hit. for me the action were one of the 60's true forgotten gems, who captured, epitomised, the real sound of the mid 60's.

On 6Music this morning Lauren Laverne played a version of These Boots are Made for Walking from Diana Ross & the Supremes. I didn't realise they had recorded it themselves.

One of the more surprising aspects of this thread has been the large number of French tracks (most of them very good indeed) that have been submitted to it. Five of those French tracks can be found below.

France Gall - Laisse Tomber Les Filles (1964)
First submitted to the thread in June 2010.
A year before performing the winning song at the 1965 Eurovision Song Contest the delightful France Gall recorded this superb example of French Yé-Yé music.

Jacques Dutronc - Le Responsable (1969)
First submitted to the thread in June 2010.
Prior to the start of this thread I’d never heard of Jacques Dutronc, but subsequently, after reading posts by very knowledgeable contributors such as Ohglobbits and Capablanca, I soon got the impression that he was one of the best, if not the best, French artists of the sixties. Of the many fine Jacques Dutronc tracks submitted to the thread this one is my favourite, mainly because it really rocks.

Michel Polnareff - La Poupée Qui Fait Non (1966)
First submitted to the thread in August 2010.
Fabulous track by one of France’s most talented artists, Michel Polnareff, aided and abetted on guitar by one of the UK’s most talented musicians, Jimmy Page, proving that there’s nothing like a good bit of cross-Channel co-operation.

Françoise Hardy - Mon Amie La Rose (1965)
First submitted to the thread in August 2010.
Gorgeous song. Gorgeous voice. Gorgeous girl.

Michel Polnareff - Love Me Please Love Me (1966)
First submitted to the thread in September 2010.
Michel Polnareff yet again, et pourquoi pas? This track is very different from La Poupée Qui Fait Non, but just as excellent. Don’t let the English title fool you, it is sung in French.”

Five fantastic songs there.Five fantastic singers.Love me,Please love me is just a truly amazing song.I would also add Angelique by Christain Vidal

Vabosity's Third Anniversary Review Of The Thread - Post #33.

The overwhelming majority of tracks that I’ve featured in my Third Anniversary Review have been by artists from either the USA or the UK; there’s also been a handful of tracks by artists from France, a couple of tracks by artists from Canada and another couple by artists from Brazil. It’s time to devote a Third Anniversary Review post to tracks by artists from elsewhere in the world; a fair number of such tracks have been submitted to the thread, of which five can be found below.

The Easybeats - Good Times (1968)
Country of origin: Australia.
First submitted to the thread in June 2010.

My all time favourite Aussie band with a track that was nowhere near as successful as their classic 1966 UK Top Ten single, Friday On My Mind, but which is imho almost as good.

Rita Pavone - Heart (1967)
Country of origin: Italy.
First submitted to the thread in June 2010.

A great pop song that was a minor hit in the UK for this very talented Italian singer. Apparently, Morrissey is a huge fan of Rita Pavone.

Los Saicos - Lonely Star (1965)
Country of origin: Peru.
First submitted to the thread in November 2010.

For your delectation and delight here is something very different, Peruvian Sixties Garage Rock. Yes, you read it right the first time, Peruvian Sixties Garage Rock! I bet some of you didn’t know such a thing existed, and up until I discovered this band almost three years ago, nor did I. What’s more, as Sixties Garage Rock goes this band are up there with the best.

The Spotnicks - Johnny Guitar (1962)
Country of origin: Sweden.
First submitted to the thread in December 2010.

Britain had the Shadows, America had the Ventures and Sweden had the Spotnicks. This is one of my favourite tracks by Scandinavia’s finest sixties instrumental group.

Toots and the Maytals - Monkey Man (1969)
Country of origin: Jamaica.
First submitted to the thread in January 2011.

A truly classic Jamaican track famously covered in 1979 by the Specials and in 2006 by Amy Winehouse.
