Reading the press reports over the past few weeks, and especially those today it seems like more and more things to do with the Big Brother 'experience' are becoming watered down simply in a bid to hold the average viewer's 30 second attention span. I realise a lot of it's probably just tabloid heresay but when Phil Edgar-Jones says they want to incorporate elements from I'm A Celebrity... in BB5 as well as introducing couples into the house et al, I begin to wonder if this is going to become a bit too much like Back To Reality, with some really intense and interesting moments but ultimately unsatisfying because it has got to the point where everything interesting that happens in the house is either directly or indirectly controlled by the show's producers.
Surely if they've done their casting right (and god knows, they should be able to do that after five years) then the housemates shouuld be the focus of attention, not whatever bizarre punishments the production team can come up with, and not some stupid tasks whatever they happen to be, which should only really be there to get the housemates interacting not be entertainment in themselves. I'm A Celebrity... was a great show but it wasn't Big Brother, why can't they try and get their own show right rather than stealing ideas from others?
Sorry 'bout length...
