Brian JonesTown Massacre - any fans here?
Hi all, I have been a fan since the move Dig! (charts the friendship that turns to rivalry/jealousy between BJM and The Dandy Wharhols, great movie btw!).....and I saw them live for the first time recently and they were brilliant!
Anton Newcombe the founder and figure head of the band is cited as a genius/psycho type character, and they are reknowned for inner band fighting etc, but either way they are a great band, here are some tunes by them! BJM - Anemone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEsDd8RK0Uc BJM - Never the Less: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1TZmn_YPgQ BJM - When Jokers Attack: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeLepdqMPMk |

Got the album tepid peppermint very dark trippy style like Spaceman 3 and Spiritualized. But everyone says Their Satanic Majesties' Second Request was a better album should have got that one. They got a cult following over here becuase of the Dandy Warhol in the late 90's but I think they would have been big if they sticked together longer and marketed better.

If you like the BJM you should also check out The Jesus and Mary Chain,My Bloody Valentine,The Beta Band and early Verve during the Man Called Sun days.
And a band called Revolver with Cold Water Flat and Swervedrivers Raise. |
