I'm a little tired of listening to music from familiar parts of the world - America and Britain with Ireland, Canada and the Caribbean occasionally thrown in - so I'd like to start a thread on music from other parts of the world.

It doesn't have to be from the 'world music' genre however, which is typically folk music of some sort or another. It can be absolutely anything you've been enjoying from the far-flung corners of the globe, even if it's partly Western influenced.

----------------------------------------------------------------

So, to start off the thread...

Here is Anima Sound System, a Hungarian band which fuses traditional folk music (often Eastern European) with electronica.

What an excellent thread idea.

I've just been listening to Casiokids, from Norway.
Then there's Jonsi and Kira Kira from Iceland.
