Slush Puppy
Yeah that mushy fruit flavourerd ice drink which, even though looked less appetizing due to the fact the pic on the dispenser and paper cups resembled Carol McGiffen of Loose Women fame, is sorely missed since the demise of Woolworth IMO.
Does anybody sell it now, and also, did/do you like it? |

I used to buy quite a lot of the 'blue' variety from the local 'tuck shop'; fortunately some nearly 20 years later, I still have teeth. Do 'tuck shops' exist these days?

Me and my friend used to buy a raspberry one (the blue one) on our way to Girl Guides (
) on a Friday evening. I haven't had one for quite literally donkeys years.

Meh. Orange jubbly, pyramid shaped. That's frozen drink nostalgia.

Why were they so damned appealing?
How did they get the ice to remain in such tiny balls without clumping together? I used to get so excited about slush puppies - even though the cups would go soggy by the time you were half way through. ![]() I also liked the raspberry, but I think that was just the novelty of having a blue drink. |

One of our 'local' cinemas does them under the pseudonym 'Ice Junkies', it's the only reason I go there

My god, it's drove me crazy for years trying to figure out who she reminded me of! Thank you so much.

Seriously. You guys have to check this out. I got one recently, and I reckon I could live on my new invention of Sloshed Puppies. They're just like them days, but with booze... yummmm... And so much variety. Keeps you very cool in the heat too! And as far as I was concerned, the flavour of the blue one was 'blue' - it pops up quite often in US foodstuffs/drinks.

My dad did that in the 80s . (the booze in a cup of crushed ice and fruit juice I mean)Mind you, he didn't patent it...

I sell them
I work holidays and weekends (not old enough for a proper job ) in a takeaway kiosk on a holiday site and we do red (strawberry) and blue (raspberry) slush puppies, and they are proper slush puppies, not just any old Ice Blast rip offs. We use plastic slush puppy cups now rather than paper ones, we were sick of picking up blue-stained paper mush off tables.Blue slush puppy + blue WKD = one very interesting night at work

Tonight I was at the theatre I bought a blue Slush Puppy during the interval. I then went into the bar and asked the nice young man behind the counter to put a Bacardi in it.
Now that is a drink well worth having. |

For $49.99 that product is seriously tempting. Sadly I've been known to buy products like this that get used once and after I've cleaned them I've not bothered again
![]() For sure, an iced drinks maker is not going to be pulled out of the cupboard a great deal in this country. Not if we keep having days like today anyway. |

Woolworths never had them when I was a kid. I used to get them from RS McColl or John Menzies back then. God knows who sells them now!

You get them in most soft play areas, my Son loves a half red and half blue.
I am sure the hospital I work in sells them (?WH SMITH) as I have seen relatives come in with them - must investigate! |

I love half red and half blue
what prices do your cinemas and theatres charge for them, around here it's extortionate but our kiosk's prices are good compared to theirs.
