So up until know the HDR has been a 100% reliable only missing a recording due to the power cut bug.

Anyway got back today just after 7:00 (later than normal) and noted that the HDR was still in standby and not recording its scheduled 7:00 program. Also as I use the timed power on feature to switch the unit on at 6:00 (so it is on and ready when I get back) I was most surprised that it had not come out of standby.

Anyaway I switched it on and set the repeat recording on a +1 channel. Further investigation of my other equipment appears to indicate that there has been no sustained power cut or even a short glitch so I don't think I can blame the power cut bug for this one. I have no idea why it has played up tonight.

One other minor oddity is that I have noticed that Sunday nights recording of Top Gear (series linked) appears to be scheduled twice - once on BBC2 England and again on BBC2 NI. Checked the CRID's and can see no reason why the HDR has done this. Tried a full schedule rebuild (i.e. pressed guide to fully update the EPG) and it still has two recordings scheduled. Anyone else?

I have actually only just realised that I had two recordings scheduled at 7:00 tonight. They were Hollyoaks (on E4) which I have recorded from E4+1 and the Genius of Design (on BBC2 England) which I will catch on iPlayer later (note Virgin Media on Demand not Freesat iPlayer). I don't think the fact it missed these two programs is the real mystery - the HDR failing to perform its timed switch on at 6:00 leads me to believe that the HDR was in some dormant state (a variation of the power cut bug maybe triggered by something else).

Onto the Top Gear duplicate schedule recording issue. The CRID's are as follows for the 8:00 to 9:00 showing on Sunday night on all 4 BBC 2 variants (ENG, NI, SCO, W):-

PROG CRID : fp.bbc.co.uk/1RH91Y
SERIES CRID : fp.bbc.co.uk/KMMZ10

Just set a series record for top Gear Sunday without a problem. the crid's you posted look fine so you may have a gremlin in your box. A factory reset might be a good idea.

Not universally popular on here but the +1 channels are so useful for this purpose or side-stepping a clash!

Just done a factory reset as I noted other odd behaviour.

Attempting to set a recording from another channel the same time as Top Gear brought up a conflict dialog which gave me the option of cancelling 3 recordings for Top Gear all at the same time (one recording on BBC2 Eng and two duplciates on BBC2 NI). Cancelling one of the 3 conflicts resulted in all Top Gear scheduled recordings to disappear however when adding the series link again it would still appear on both BBC2 Eng and BBC2 NI.

Fingers crossed everything looks OK following the factory reset so lets hope its just a one off glitch and not a sign of things to come.
