Just got into a discusion with my wife regarding which companion you automaticaly associate with the various Doctors. I was surprised that we each picked different ones for almost all the Doctors.

This is what we came up with:

1st Doctor - Susan (both of us)
2nd Doctor - Jamie (me) - Zoe (wife)
3rd Doctor - Sarah Jane (me) - Jo Grant (wife)
4th Doctor - Romana (me) - Adric (wife)
5th Doctor - Teegan (me) - Peri (wife)
6th Doctor - Mel (me) - Peri (wife)
7th Doctor - Ace (both of us)
8th Doctor - Lucie (me) - Charlie (wife)
9th Doctor - Rose (both of us)
10th Doctor - Donna (me) - Rose (wife)
11th Doctor - Amelia (me) - Amy (wife)

This isn't to say that these are our favourite companions, just the ones that spring to mind when you think of each Doctor. For instance I automaticaly associate Colin Bakers Doctor with Mel, yet I loathed her character.
