Who movie ?

Apparently Billie Piper said they are making a Dr Who movie.

http://www.anglotopia.net/british-en...-in-the-works/

I also read some other stuff about it, including that it will be about the Time War. There are some trailers about it on YouTube but they are clearly cobbled-together footage from series 1-4 made by fans.

Just wondering if anybody else has any info. about whether this is actually being made .

This was discussed in March 2009 and January 2010 when a movie was "confirmed." Billie Piper wouldn't know.

This is pretty much ancient history. I don't think there is going to be any DW movie, and even if there was it wouldn't feature a past Doctor, it would feature the current one.

Agree. There's no way even the BBC would be dumb enough to undermine their new Doctor by using an old one in a movie just as he was establishing himself.

Thy are my exact feelings.....no way would they do that!

And if DT still wanted to be involved in the show in terms of screen appearances...he wouldn't have left.....but he has, so he wouldn't go and make a movie.....

I've only gotten into Who in the past year - I did suspect that there would've been threads on this before but too far back to check for, so I was hoping somebody might be in the know about it.

A movie about the Time War would be epic I think - I'd often wondered exactly what went on there.

The BBC would have the rights to any Dr Who movies made so it's fair enough to assume that they would involve the current cast, however since it was to be about the Time War I was actually thinking it would have to be Eccleston in the role, or some mixture of all 3 Doctors or something.

I think it's generally accepted that it was the eighth Doctor who fought in the Time War, since the ninth seemed to have just regenerated in 'Rose'.

I did get that impression in "Rose" too, but he doesn't actually specify.
In any case, there are always ways around these technicalities. For example, look at Tennant's fake regeneration in "The Stolen Earth"/"Journey's End".
Also given the "wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey " stuff involved, there would certainly be ways of revisiting earlier incarnations of the Doctor, even in a non- "prequel" capacity.

I think it's more likely that it hasn't been decided yet. Nobody seems to have any recent info. I just came across this, which is a more detailed comment from Piper, and she actually mentions David Tennant.
I DO think he'd be great in a Who movie.

I believe it has been mentioned on that McCoy website that there was supposed to be a movie involving Docs 9, 10 and 11.

**edit** here it is: http://www.sylvestermccoy.com/newdoctorwho/

A multi-Doctor story would be great.

Especially if it included the lovely 8th Doctor. And the 10th. And the11th. Wow.

Pretty much everything on that site is a fabrication. It's a total laughing stock in fandom.

And the 7th. And the 6th. And the 5th and 4th.

Hmm. That may be too many. Can we lose the 10th?

NO NO NO

I agree about the Doctors 4 - 7 in theory. I just didn't include them because of - ahem -age.

It's nothing but fanciful rumours with no basis. Don't believe everything you read! Until we hear word from the BBC on this, take everything with a heavy dose of salt. We're getting a video game, let's take it one step at a time, eh?
