The manual for your tv can be found online here.

http://tda.panasonic-europe-service..../TQB0E0955.pdf

And it states that Viera link compatible dvd recorder machines should be connected to the tv via scart to Ext 2.

So I think you need to connect AV2 on your Panasonic recorder to AV2 on your tv.

If there is a menu option in the tv settings for enabling Viera link to AV2 set it to on and output as DTT.

I'm on my iPhone at the moment so can't read the instructions too well. If you get stuck, post again and we'll see what we can do to get you set up. If all else fails, there's always Panasonics tech support too, so don't despair.

Your help is very much appreciated.

Now I'm off the iphone, I can see that you need to follow the instructions on pages 56 - 60 of the user manual and this should get you set up to record DTT from the TV. The Panasonic TV does work with other Viera link machines such as the DMR-BS850 so you should be able to record the freeview channels such as five, fiver, five usa, virgin and dave which aren't available on Freesat.

I know the link I posted doesn't seem to work so try this one:

and accept to view.

Good luck!

As this is end of line stock, if it goes wrong, some will, who repairs it? I know Tessie Cohan buys end of line stock,so can take it back to the store, QVC one wonders.

QVC or the agent it is dealing with probably paid £50 each max.

In the unlikely event that the product becomes faulty within 12 months, QVC will probably arrange for collection and repair under a Panasonic approved repair agent. If the item is beyond repair, the item could potentially be replaced by Panasonic new for old or a refund provided.

I would say anyone who develops a fault should contact QVC. Generally their after sales and customer service is very good and I for one would much rather buy from QVC than some of these high street retainers who seem to be hear today and gone tomorrow, often with your money. Name one: Empire Direct!
Panasonic are also a very good manufacturer so again, I don't think anyone who has bought one need unnecessarily worry.

Very happy with the 850, apart from it being fairly slow.

I have some old video's(weddings etc), is there any way to connect a video recorder to the 850 so that I can record these old video films to the 850 HDD/BD?
