Questions to Ponder

1) This one's the hardest one.

Get this.... You exist. You live very happily with your girlfriend until one day you die and just when you're getting your head round that fact, you come into contact with energy from a crack in time and as a consequence of which you do not and never have existed. So you're not dead because you never did exist and there's no possible way to kill something that has never before existed.. So erm... who are we talking about again? Quite the paradox we have we have here

What I'm trying get at here is how can you have someone who exists and then come up with the concept that they've been erased from existence and he never was born/existed does it not stand to reason that he'd never have been born anyway and hens have noone to fall through a crack in time anyway?

2) What do we make of the theme music for this series now that we've had time to get used to it?

3) Will we be having Doctor/Amy lite episodes this year? I noticed Amy didn't feature in a lot of last weeks episode and it got me thinking we don't know if they're doing those kinds of episodes yet do we. They tend to be some of the best episodes in new who.

2- Worse than the version we heard in today's confidential. And the one in confidential was butchered.

1. Wibbly-Wobbly-Timey-Wimey
2. Hated it at start of series, lovin' it now
3. No x-mas episode, no need for Doctor/Amy lite episodes

EDIT: re number 3: I am not saying there is no christmas episode

There is a christmas episode, they filmed it at the end of the shooting for the series iirc.

They only have a doc lite ep when they have to add the x-mas ep to the filming schedule, series 1 had no doc lite ep because the christmas invasion was filmed as part of series 2.

I'm seeing conflicting messages here.

The Christmas Invasion was shot at the start of the 2nd series, The Runaway Bride at the start of S3, the Voyage of the Damned at the start of S4, The Next Doctor is the first christmas special to be shot at the end of a series' filming IIRC.

The Doctor/Companion lite episodes were needed specifically so that they could be recorded at the same time as another story — a process called "double banking". By minimizing the appearances of the Doctor and his companion, the production team were able to record 14 episodes in the same time that it took to make 13.

That's all pretty decent logic but doesn't mean that the Christmas episode can't be done and i've had no indication until tonight that there wont be a Christmas Ep.

From an article on DS the other day:-

Gillan also joked that she wouldn't rule out more romantic scenes on the show after kissing both the Doctor and Rory (Arthur Darvill).

"I bring the best out in them," she said. "For the Christmas special? Who knows. Another kiss would be fine."

1) There's more to the crack than it simply removing people from existence. We, and the Doctor, just don't know what and how much yet.

2) I like it well enough.

3) It doesn't seem like we're going to go any lighter on the Doctor (nor should we), than Vampires in Venice, there are only four episodes left and a lot to tie together.

I didn't say that there won't be a chritmas episode, the 2010 christmas episode will be filmed at the start of series 6 as with series 2 and TCI, series 3 and TRB and series 4 and TND.

Then why didn't you say that before instead of conspiring to scare naive, one dimensional people like me.

It's also a magic, logic-defying crack that allows the Doctor to put his arm into it without being erased or being sucked in. Yet he couldn't pull Rory's body back to the TARDIS and prevent him from being erased.

It's real sloppy writing from the Moff & Co.

As opposed to a realistic, scientifically accurate crack in space and time?

It's not sloppy writing - it's not the crack that erases things from time. It's not that things that go into the crack get erased, it's the time energy pouring out of it. The last crack that we saw do that was said to open onto 'the end of the universe', if what the Doctor fished out of the crack is real, then this one also leads to the same place and time.

Of course, what was unanswered is what happened to all those Silurians after they left. There was no explanation as to whether the crack snapped shut again, or why. Maybe removing the TARDIS from the area helps?

3. Ep 11 is supposedly Amylite though maybe she does have some scenes just not with the Doctor.

Wasn't Moff who wrote it.

So did the Doctor.

Spoiler
Fish out the piece of the TARDIS from the crack in time if that's true I believe I understand the ending of the episode when he got back to the TARDIS.

Spoiler
There is a scene in the eleventh episode in which the Amy lurks in the TARDIS doorway and hands the Doctor (who is outside) a fish. Doesn't make much sense to me either yet, but we'll have to wait and see
