After my dabbles with 'Ext3'..I just had to have a look..
I noted that the bottom 2 viz..
CrId were default at 'Disable'..and
Hmeg? were default at 'Enable'..
What benefit/drawback if these are changed please?

Mheg is the system used to give you services like series record and iplayer so it needs to be on. Enabling crid display adds the series and prog crid codes to the programme information. It can be usefull to see why there sre sometimes problems making series recording reservations

Thanks Graham.. i have seen that you have been asking for them from time to time and I've just hoped that someone would let slip the method of seeing such..
I will now initiate mine.. i assume that they merely display and thus act apply retrospectively.

Unfortunately the crid codes are not saved with the recorded prog info so they only display for future events.

When you set a series record from the epg the box identifies two codes

A series crid which is the same for every episode deemed by the broadcaster to be part of the same series and a programme crid which should be different for all different episodes but the same for repeats of the same episode.

Having got the codes the box searches the epg for the first occurence of the series crid (confusingly this might not be the episode you set the series record from if an earlier one is in the epg). This event is added to the recording schedule.

After having recorded this event the epg is scanned for the next entry with the same series crid and a different prog crid. If found the schedule entry is updated to the next episode. If not found the original event remains in the schedule until a new episode is identified. If the scheduled entry is not updated for 13 weeks it deletes itself (unless of course you have already done so)

You may remember a recent incident when one region was showing the same series a week behind the others. In this case the series record correctly identified two episodes starting at the same time rather than just the one.
