I just came across this paper that might be of interest to Vestel owners:

Catchy title.

Interesting, that could mean that people no longer assume that boxes are made by Vestel because it uses the Cabot middle-ware.

The Cabot middleware was used for Daewoo and Technotrend PVRs as well as Vestel.

Wrong. End of article.

*edit* although.... that does explain why there are so many freeview-HD boxes all of a sudden, all with apparently different UI's. That's gonna make it hard to weed out the crappy vestel boxes.

That was rather my point.
Many people assume when they are Vestel because of they way they look.

On what basis do you classify Vestel as "crappy"?

BTW, the "new look" screengrabs in that article (the ones with the red title bar) are pretty close, if not the same, to what is being used on Vestel's T8300 HD boxes.
