BBC Manchester - Host: Jimmy Wagg from BBC Bus on Wembley Way Manchester United v Manchester City (FA Cup Semi Final) Commentary 5:15pm: Steve Wyeth (1-22), Ian Cheeseman (23-45), Arthur Albiston & Fred Eyre Blackpool v Wigan: Paul Rowley (3pm Updates) Bury v Barnet: Brian Clark (Updates) *Also had reports at Yeovil v Oldham, Shrewsbury v Stockport & Rochdale v Brentford. Phil Kinsella & Graham Miller were two of them but I can't recall which games they did. I know it's a big Manchester derby but it was also a massive game for Wigan today it was pretty poor I thought that they did no commentary at all on it. I know its on Wish FM these days but still..... 102.4 Wish FM - Host: Chris Milow Blackpool v Wigan: Graham Lovett & Chris Kirkland BBC Lancashire - Host: Gary Hickson Blackpool v Wigan: Ian Chisnall & Steve Canavan (Commentary) Everton v Blackburn: Andy Bayes (Updates) Burnley v Swansea: Scott Reid (Updates) Preston v Sheffield United: Gary Hunt (Updates) Accrington v Oxford: Dan Jewell (Updates) Gillingham v Morecambe: Derek Quinn (Updates) Fleetwood v Altrincham: Richard Marsh (Updates) BBC Merseyside Everton v Blackburn: Ian Kennedy & Ronnie Goodlass (Commentary) Tranmere v Dagenham & Redbridge: Derek Jones (Updates) Radio City 96.7 Everton v Blackburn: Alan Irwin & Graeme Sharp Key 103 Manchester United v Manchester City (FA Cup Semi Final) Commentary: Hugh Ferris Summarisers: Nicky Summerbee & Mickey Thomas |

Andy, I am guessing that BBC Manchester only have rights for Bolton and Man City in the Premier League but you would know far better than me. In London, BBC London does not have any rights for Arsenal and Chelsea and I am not sure but I don't remember the last Premier League commentary involving Fulham and a non-London club.

No, they do have rights for Wigan (I'm pretty sure Andy's listed Wigan commentary games on BBC Manchester in the past), they just don't always use them.

Yeah they do have rights to do Wigan games and they have done quite a few over recent years, probably more so when Wish FM wasn't an option. Don't get me wrong I know it was a big derby at Wembley for them but 4 hours 15 minutes build up is a bit excessive, especially when it was such a big game for Wigan today. I suppose though most Latics fans would tune to Wish FM having argued that.

Saturday 16th April - Absolute Radio 1215AM and Absolute Radio Extra
Russ Williams presenting Rock & Roll Football Live alongside Perry Groves, followed by Ian Wright between 5-6.30pm Premier League West Ham United v Aston Villa - Jim Proudfoot and Matt Holland (commentary) BBC WM Paul Franks presenting WM Sport from Upton Park Premier League Birmingham City v Sunderland - Richard Wilford, with Jane France interviewing fans outside St Andrew's West Bromwich Albion v Chelsea - Rob Gurney West Ham United v Aston Villa - Mark Regan and Paul Franks (commentary) League One Walsall v Brighton & Hove Albion - Dan Wheeler BRMB, Beacon Radio (Black Country), Mercia and Gold (Birmingham) Tom Ross presenting The Goalzone from Upton Park Premier League Birmingham City v Sunderland - Adam Bridge and Jon McCarthy (Gold Birmingham commentary) West Bromwich Albion v Chelsea - Mikey Burrows and Tony Brown (Beacon commentary) West Ham United v Aston Villa - Tom Ross and Pat Heard (BRMB commentary) Championship Coventry City v Millwall - Joe Holt and Dave Bennett (Mercia commentary) On Today FM in Ireland, West Ham United v Aston Villa was the featured game with Ron Jones and Mick Martin due to commentate according to the station's website. I've no idea whether that changed or who their reporters were at the day's other four Premier League games, I'm afraid. |

Sunday 17th April - talkSPORT
Alan Brazil presenting Sunday Exclusive alongside Bobby Gould and Chris Davies from the Daily Telegraph, followed by Call Kelly with Danny Kelly FA Cup Semi-Final Bolton Wanderers v Stoke City - Simon Humphreys and Ray Houghton Premier League Arsenal v Liverpool - Kev Lawrence Rugby Union: Premiership London Wasps v Leeds Carnegie - Russell Hargreaves Formula 1: Chinese Grand Prix Shanghai International Circuit - Graham Courtney Given the shortage of live sport taking place during Sunday Exclusive, I was quite surprised that there was no reporter at the Aberdeen v Celtic Scottish Cup Semi-Final (much to Alan's displeasure!). I know Peter Martin was running the London Marathon today and Mark Donaldson has left the country, but even in the absence of an on-site presence at Hampden Park surely off-tube updates would have been preferable to none at all. On a more positive note, I think talkSPORT got it right with there of choice of reporters at both FA Cup Semi-Finals. Yesterday their Manchester football correspondent Dom McGuinness covered City v United while Simon Humphreys, a Stokie who normally reports on Bolton and other North West clubs, is covering today's game. Both reporters closely follow both of the clubs involved in their respective ties, so it was a wise move to assign them to these games rather than relying on a couple of their London-based reporters, as they usually would for games played at Wembley. Interesting to see Kev Lawrence getting to report on more games in London on top of those taking place in his usual 'patch' of East Anglia. He was talkSPORT's pitchside reporter at Arsenal v Blackburn Rovers a few weeks ago and has since covered games at both North London Premier League clubs over the past two weekends. I know their four main London correspondents (Ian Abrahams, Mike Bovill, Andy Clarke and Andrew McKenna) all have lots of other commitments both with talkSPORT and elsewhere so won't always be available to cover matches, but it appears they are starting to favour Kev over their other South East-based reporters. |

Monday 18th April - talkSPORT
Mark Saggers presenting Kick-Off alongside Stan Collymore and Guillem Balague Championship Queens Park Rangers v Derby County - Tony Incenzo Blimey, it really was "Monday Night Fight Night" (as Stan likes to call it) during the first hour! It was very heated. Things seemed to have calmed down since Guillem joined them in the studio at 8pm, bringing a touch of class to proceedings like he used to in the halycon days of Football First In Europe. |

This Saturday, Radio 5 Live are listing on their website commentary on Wolves v Fulham on 5 Live Sport and Spurs v WBA on Sport Extra. Absolute Radio have commentary on Blackpool v Newcastle. Does anyone know how this is happening as I thought only Absolute had the secondary 3pm rights?
