Avril Lavigne - New album September....
'Tentatively' due out in September....... http://i48.tinypic.com/t5omdu.jpg some interesting parts: Quote:
Lavigne's upcoming album, currently without a title and tentatively due out in September has a more sophisticated, grown up vibe, with lush string arrangements and mellow acoustic guitars.
Quote:
Lavigne credits the subtler sound to the fact she wrote and recorded the new album at home in L.A, which allowed the material to take shape organically. To be honest, she annoys me a little these days, and the delays have been annoying, Especially when she had a stupid fragrance out last summer and another in the next few months..
She also called more of the shots: Though the record contains songwriting and production collaborations with Butch Walker, Evan Taubenfeld and Deryck Whibley, Lavigne says she wrote the majority of the songs on her own and produced on several tracks for the first time in her career. |

So, it's 'tentatively' due out in September, doesn't yet have a title.
Well it's a small update I guess lol |

It will be worth it. I really do think it will... hopefully we will get some more news soon.
And her website is having a make over isn't it? I hope it relaunches with a new single. |

Yeah the 'official' website is getting a makeover...so that has to mean something.
I'm curious as to how good the songs will be, the ones she wrote and produced alone. 'Alice' was well written for her first release solo writing effort. |

I'm just really glad that 'Think About It' song turned out to be a really old unreleased demo. Those lyrics were awful.
I think it'll be good. I'm very interested to hear it. It'll fresh to hear something 'real' in the charts which are full of electro pop singing females. Not that I mind that, I love Lady GaGa, but having Avril back will be great.

Avril better come back hard, because if the start of Christina's current era has taught us anything its that you can't rely on your name when you've spent so long out of the game!

To be honest, and I say this as a fan, Avril can't really rely on her name anyway. She does promotes very well though... at the beginning of The Best Damn Thing era she was everywhere, on loads of TV/radio/awards shows.
I really hope she gets a number one in the UK with this album though. She deserves it.

Erm, Christina's released one single, and the album's not even out yet, but let me guess, she's flopped?!

I don't want it to, but with a weak lead single (which did flop everywhere) and not much promo going on, and with it being such a long time since her last outing, I can't see this era being a huge success, regardless of what the future singles are like. Here in the uk it'll probably chart well in it's first week then drop like a stone, as almost all new albums have done this year.Let's hope Avril does things considerably better! |

I'm not a fan but like some of her tunes. But Avril live is unbearable.

Not unless she's improved a lot. Just to add another to that list ^^ ![]() Not gonna lie, she wasn't great live when first came out IMO anyway. But she has improved loooooads especially over the past few years. |

She did ok there^^^
I hope that we get to her her more natural rawer vocals on the album. I read somewhere that she hasn't used any auto-tune on the tracks she had recorded (this must have been around February). It's not that she couldn't sing too well in the early days, it was that she really wanted to sound deeper more rock-ish to match her persona. Her voice in 2000... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBmkSnOT1SI |

New song, first single? Only 43 second preview, with annoying tags. |

It's 'ok'. Will reserve judgment till i hear the full version.
I wonder if this is one of the self written tracks or if it's co-written with Butch or Evan. Hard to tell really. |
